Analysis of Average Hourly Wages in Turkiye According to Socio-Demographic Variables
Abstract
This study aims to examine average hourly wages in Türkiye according to socio-demographic variables. The study included the average hourly wage of 129260 individuals selected from the 2023 TÜİK Household Labor Force Survey Microdata Set, for whom complete data on both dependent and independent variables were available. To investigate the effects of gender, age, marital status, education level, sector of employment, and registration on the average hourly wage variable, and the interactions of these variables with the gender variable, a Factorial ANOVA model was tested, including the main effects of these variables as well as the second-order co-effects of gender. The findings indicate that all main effects and second-order interaction effects in the model are statistically significant at the .001 level of significance. Accordingly, while average hourly wages show significant differences across the categories of gender, marital status, education level, industry, and employment status, the differences among the independent variable categories were found to interact significantly with the gender variable.

Türkiye’de Ortalama Saatlik Ücretlerin Sosyo-Demografik Değişkenlere Göre İncelenmesi
