This article aims to analyse the Kosovo crisis during the dissolution of Yugoslavia and to determine the effects of the NATO intervention to find a solution to the Kosovo problem.
Throughout history, many nations have lived in the Balkan region. Thus the Balkans have so many riches, especially in the cultural field. However the multinational structure of the Balkans
has caused some conflicts and even crises in the region. The Kosovo issue is one of these crises in the Balkans. Although the Kosovo problem has existed for many years, it began to occupy
the international agenda especially during the process of the dissolution of Yugoslavia. In Kosovo, where the vast majority of the population is ethnically Albanian, the fact that Serbs
have historical aspirations and claims to the territory of Kosovo has prevented a solution between the two sides. Since the Serbian-Albanian conflict reached its peak in 1998-1999,
NATO's intervention became inevitable. The NATO intervention significantly ended the Kosovo issue and paved the way for Kosovo's independence. Nowadays, although there are still
problems between Kosovo, which declared independence in 2008, and Serbia, the European Union mediates between the two sides in an effort to overcome these problems. This research
was created to answer these questions: "What are the factors that led to the 1999 Kosovo Crisis?" and "Why has NATO intervened to Kosovo Crisis?
