Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
• The author cannot have his/her article in the submission process of more than one journal at the same time. Each application can be started after the completion of the previous application.
• The author must guarantee that the work is original and has not been published elsewhere in any language.
• Articles submitted for publication must not violate scientific publication ethics (such as plagiarism, forgery, distortion, republication, unfair authorship, not specifying the supporting organization).
• In case of direct quotation from other works during the research process of the article, the author must be cited.
• For special collection/archive resources that require copyright/permission (visual materials, maps, etc.), the data must have usage rights and necessary permissions.
• The bibliography list must be complete and the sources cited must be indicated.,
• In order for the findings of the study to be verified by others, the methods and sources should be clearly and precisely defined.
• Multiple publications resulting from a single research project should be clearly identified and the primary publication should be cited.
Ethical Responsibilities for Referees
• Reviews should be impartial and reviewers should not have any conflict of interest with the study/authors.
• Reviewers must be experts in the subject they are reviewing, and if they do not have sufficient knowledge, they should decline the offer of reviewing.
• In accordance with the principle of confidentiality, reviewers should never share the studies they review with third parties and should destroy them after the evaluation process.
• Reviewers should only evaluate the content of the study. They should not allow nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs and commercial concerns to influence the evaluation.
• As part of their responsibilities as educators and trainers, reviewers should guide the authors and avoid offensive and insulting comments and statements about the inadequacies of the author(s).
• They should carry out the work they accept for evaluation in a timely manner and within the framework of the above ethical responsibilities.
Ethical Responsibilities for Editors
• The editors are responsible for ensuring the quality of the material they publish and protecting the integrity of the published record.
• Editors take care to act in accordance with the principle of freedom of thought in order to ensure fair and impartial evaluation of the work.
• Editors conduct their work processes in accordance with intellectual property rights and ethical standards.
• Editors protect the confidentiality of authors and reviewers and manage the review process accordingly. Identity information is kept confidential as the review process is carried out with the double-blind method. The referee list for each issue is announced in the relevant issue.
• Editors take care to ensure that all manuscripts are reviewed by appropriately qualified referees.
• Detailed information on the process for authors is provided in the Instructions for Authors.
• During the appointment of referees, the editors are aware of any conflicts of interest between the authors and the referees.
• Reviewers are encouraged to use impartial, scientific and objective language when evaluating the manuscript.
• Unkind and unscientific reviews are blocked or censored.
• Editors are responsible for protecting the intellectual property rights of all published articles and defending the rights of the journal and the author(s) in case of possible violations.
• The editors take into account criticism of the works published in the journal and strive to adopt a constructive attitude towards these criticisms. Publishes criticism and discussion articles about the articles.
• According to the recommendations of the referees, the Editorial Board follows one of the following paths:
- It may publish the work. It may accept the work with partial and significant changes and improvements for publication.
- It may ask the author(s) to edit the manuscript in accordance with the referees' opinions and initiate a new evaluation process.
- Reject the study.
