Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to the Balıkesir University BUBFA Journal must be prepared in accordance with the following guidelines.

1. The Balıkesir University BUBFA Journal is published twice a year. The languages of publication are Turkish and English. Articles submitted for publication in our journal are subject to a double-blind peer review process.

2. Research submitted to the Balıkesir University BUBFA Journal must not have been published elsewhere or submitted for publication elsewhere. Articles should be between 4,000 and 6,000 words. This word count includes the article title, abstract, keywords, main text, words in figures and tables, and references; however, it does not include the author’s contact information or the extended abstract.

3. For Turkish-language manuscripts, the Turkish Language Association’s Spelling Guide and the principles established by our journal are followed.

4. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are reviewed by at least two referees. The publication process for a manuscript begins only if at least two referees submit positive reports.

5. The Balıkesir University BUBFA Journal requires that all studies requiring ethics committee approval have obtained such approval. Information regarding ethics committee approval must be clearly stated in the “Methods” section of the article.

6. If AI-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, etc.) were used during the writing process, this must be explicitly stated at the time of submission. All responsibility for the use of AI rests with the authors.

7. For manuscripts submitted to the journal, the total similarity rate—excluding the reference list—in the similarity report must not exceed 20%.

8. All submitted articles in Turkish and English must begin with a Turkish title, a Turkish abstract, an English title, and an English abstract. Abstracts should be between 150 and 200 words. Care should be taken to ensure that the abstract includes information on the purpose, methods, findings, and conclusions. No quotations or citations should be included in the abstract. Keywords must be listed in both English and Turkish below the abstract. The number of keywords must be at least 3 and no more than 5 words and/or word groups. The abstract text must be written in 10-point Times New Roman font, justified, and fit on a single page. The introduction must begin on the next page (page 2).

9. Submitted articles must be formatted with 6nk before and after, and single-line spacing. The main body of the article must be prepared using 12-point Times New Roman and a Turkish font. The page layout must have 2 cm margins at the top, bottom, right, and left, with text justified.

10. The entire reference list must be formatted using Times New Roman, 12-point font, single line spacing, and a paragraph spacing of 6nk before and after. Each entry in the reference list must be indented by 1.25 cm. The text must be justified.

11.   Articles submitted to the journal must include the following sections:

·       Title in Turkish

·       Abstract in Turkish (150–200 words)

·       Keywords (3–5 words)

·       Title in English

·       Abstract in English (150–200 words)

·       Keywords (3–5 words)

·       Introduction

·       Literature Review

·       Method (The purpose of the study, model, design, study group, population and sample, measurement tools used, and statistical analyses used must be specified)

·       Findings

·       Conclusion and Discussion

·       References

·       Appendices (if any)
