İnteraktif Mekânlarda Çalışma Prensipleri: Cumincad İndeksi Üzerinden Hype Cycle Bağlamında Bir Değerlendirme

Abstract

Bir dış etmene bağlı olarak çeşitli biçimlerde şekil değiştirebilen mekânlara interaktif mekânlar denilmektedir. Teknolojik ilerlemelere paralel gelişim gösteren interaktif mekân olgusunun tasarımcılara sunmuş olduğu olanaklar bu mekânların üretim yöntemlerine dair bilgi edinilmesini zorunlu kılmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı sınırlandırılmış bir tarihsel aralıkta gerçekleşmiş sayısal tasarım konferanslarının etkileşimli mekânlara dair nicel ve nitel verilerin elde edilmesinde bir araç olarak kullanılmasıdır. Etkileşimli mekânların çalışma prensiplerinin incelenmesi ve Gardner’ın Hype Döngüsü kapsamında değerlendirilmesidir. Çalışma tarama araştırması ve içerik analizinden faydalanan karma bir araştırmadır. Konu hakkında uluslararası düzeyde bilimsel bilgi edinebilmek gerekçesiyle kümülatif bir indeks seçilmiştir. Araştırma evrenini oluşturan CumInCAD indeksinden ölçüt örneklemesi yoluyla veri eldesi gerçekleşmiştir. Veri tabanının içeriği literatür taramaları sonucunda belirlenen ölçütler kapsamında seçime tabi tutulmuştur. 2020-2022 tarihsel aralığında yer alan 1411 adet çalışmadan 11 adedinin araştırma ölçütlerini karşıladığı görülmüş ve çalışma bu örnekler üzerinden yürütülmüştür. Örnekler çalışma prensipleri kapsamında incelenerek bulgulanmıştır. Sonuçta etkileşimli mekânlarda otonom sistemler, üretken tasarım, makine öğrenmesi kod üretimi ve veri gözlemlenebilirliği teknolojilerinin kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu teknolojilerin Hype döngüsünün inovasyon tetiklemesi evresinde yoğunlaştığı bulgulanmıştır. Etkileşimli mekânların üretim biçimleri hakkında bilgi sahibi olmanın tasarımcılara mekân üretimlerinde yeni olanaklar üzerine düşünme imkânı tanıyacağı varsayımıyla yapılan araştırma bir derleme-tartışma çalışması olup elde edilen bulguların iç mimarlık-sayısal üretim ilişkisine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Working Principles for Interactive Spaces: An Investigation in the Context of Hype Cycle Through Cumincad Index

Abstract

Spaces that can change shape in various ways depending on an external factor are interactive. The possibilities offered by the interactive space, which develops with technological advances, and the new interpretations it brings to the space require learning the production methods of these spaces. The study aims to use computational design conferences in a limited historical range to obtain quantitative and qualitative data on interactive spaces. It is the examination of the working principles of interactive spaces and their evaluation within the scope of Gardner's Hype Cycle. The study is mixed research using index reviewing and content analysis. A cumulative index was chosen to obtain international scientific information on the subject. The sample was determined by criterion sampling from the CumInCAD index, which constitutes the research universe. The database was selected according to the criteria determined by the literature review. It was seen that 11 of 1411 studies in the historical range of 2020-2022 met the research criteria, and the study was carried out on these samples. The working principles of the samples were examined. As a result, it has been determined that autonomic systems, generative design AI, machine learning code generation, and data observability technologies are used intensively in interactive spaces. These technologies are concentrated in the innovation trigger phase of Gardner's Hype Cycle. The research is a review-discussion study, and it is thought that the findings will contribute to the relationship between interior architecture and computational production.
