Use of Hydroponic Barley as a Green Feed Source and Its Effects on Red Partridges (Alectoris Chukar)

Abstract

Red Partridges (Alectoris Chukar) grown under intensive conditions were produced with hydroponic barley as an alternative method to facilitate their adaptation to nature and to meet the need for green fodder. Thus, it is ensured that the animals benefit from green feed sources even in the cage environment. In this study, hydroponic barley product was produced for breeder red partridges; egg production, egg weight, hatchability and some behavior patterns were investigated. While the hatchability of the eggs obtained from the produced partridges with red partridge was 76.93% on average, the hatchability of the uncultivated partridges was 72.72%. While the egg weight of the eggs taken from the red partridges produced was 23.81 gr, the egg weight of the control group was 18.58 gr. While the product group had the highest values in terms of egg number, hatchability and egg weight, the non-administered group had the lowest values. In addition, according to the results of two independent sample t-test egg numbers in terms of hatchability and egg weight, the difference between these characteristics of the group that was applied and the group that was not applied was found to be statistically significant (P < 0.01).

Kınalı Kekliklerde (Alectoris Chukar) Yeşil Yem Kaynağı Olarak Hidroponik Arpa Kullanımı ve Etkileri

Abstract

Entansif şartlarda yetiştirilen Kınalı Keklikler (Alectoris chukar) doğaya adaptasyonunu kolaylaştırmak ve yeşil yem ihtiyacını karşılamak için alternatif bir yöntem olarak hidroponik arpa hasılı üretimi yapılmıştır. Böylece hayvanların kafes ortamında bile yeşil yem kaynaklarından faydalanması sağlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada ile damızlık kınalı keklikler için hidroponik arpa hasılı üretilerek; yumurta verimi, yumurta ağırlığı, kuluçka randımanı ve bazı davranış biçimleri incelenmiştir. Hasıl uygulaması yapılan gruptan elde edilen yumurtaların kuluçka randımanı ortalama olarak %76,93 iken hasıl verilmeyen grubun kuluçka randımanı %72,72 bulunmuştur. Hasıl uygulaması yapılan gruptan elde edilen yumurtaların yumurta ağırlıkları 23,81 gr iken kontrol grubun yumurta ağırlığı 18,58 gr bulunmuştur. Yumurta sayısı, kuluçka randımanı ve yumurta ağırlığı bakımından hasıl uygulanan grup en yüksek değerlere sahip iken, uygulanmayan grup en düşük değerlere sahip bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, kuluçka randımanı ve yumurta ağırlığı bakımından yapılan bağımsız iki örnek t- testi yumurta sayısı sonuçlarına göre yeşil hasıl uygulanan grup ve uygulanmayan grubun bu özellikler arasındaki farklılık istatistiksel olarak çok önemli bulunmuştur (P < 0,01).
