Bee Studies

"Bee Studies" is an academic journal has been published by Apiculture Research Institute. The journal is aimed for researchers and academicians who work in or are interested in the topics of research on bee science.

The Journal publishes original research papers and review articles on applied and scientific research in English language. It aims to address all bee studies such as:

Three to five keywords (not existing in the title) should be listed below the abstract.

Authors are requested to identify all sources of financial support for the presented research.

🗸 Author Contributions

Tables
Tables should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, ...), with each table presented on a separate sheet. Title of the table should be written on top of the table. Descriptions about table items should be placed at the bottom of the table and marked with an asterisk. Tables should be prepared in regular MS Word format (i.e., tables submitted as a figure or manually written will not be accepted)

Figures
Figures should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, ...), with each Figure presented on a separate sheet. Title of the figure and descriptions about figure items should be placed at the bottom of the figure.
🗸 Tables and Figures can be cited in the text consecutively.
🗸 Tables and Figures should be embedded in the manuscript document and provided at the end of the document.
🗸 Figures should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

Copyright Release Form

During the submission process, authors will be directed to download and complete a ”Copyright Release Form’’ which will have to be signed by all the authors.
The author(s) warrant(s) that:
🗸 The manuscript submitted is his/her/their original work;
🗸 All authors participated in the work substantially and are prepared to take public responsibility for the work;
🗸 All authors have seen and approved the manuscript as submitted;
🗸 The manuscript has not been published and is not being submitted or considered for publication elsewhere;
🗸 The text, illustrations, and any other materials included in the manuscript do not infringe upon any existing copyright or other rights of anyone.
🗸 Bee Studies has unlimited, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free right to publish, use, distribute, license, transmit, display, exhibit, record, store, translate, digitize, broadcast, reproduce and archive, in any format or medium, whether now known or hereafter developed.
🗸 Authors must clarify their changes in the Cover Letter, including point-by-point responses to the reviewers' comments.
🗸 Submission of all types of manuscripts to Bee Studies is completely managed online, via the Online Submission System. During the submission process, authors will be guided step-by-step while uploading all required documents and information.

Manuscript Submission
The authors are not allowed to submit two or more manuscripts at the same time and the author who has a progressing process of a manuscript also is not allowed to submit a new manuscript until the process is ended.

In case of resubmitting rejected manuscripts in Bee Studies:
Authors must clarify their changes in the Cover Letter, including point-by-point responses to the reviewers' comments. Otherwise, the manuscript will be rejected directly.
Submission of all types of manuscripts to Bee Studies is completely managed online, via the Online Submission System. During the submission process, authors will be guided step-by-step while uploading all required documents and information. Authors that have submitted manuscripts to Bee Studies may be asked to be reviewers in the future.

Peer-Review
Double-blind review system with at least two reviewers is used to evaluate manuscripts for publication. Editors have the right to reject the manuscripts without peer-review when the manuscript:
a) is on a topic outside the scope of the Journal,
b) lacks technical merit,
c) exhibits narrow regional scope and significance,
d) presents conflicting results,
e) is poorly written,
f) represents a case of scientific misconduct,
g) When the journal is overburdened with too many submissions, editors have the right to reject manuscripts without peer review based on their perceived merit.

Ethical and plagiarism issues
🗸 All the studies should be prepared in accordance with ethical rules and citations should be indicated in the text.
🗸 Authors should check the manuscript with plagiarism programs and send a similarity report via submission system.
🗸 Ethical reports must be submitted by the author, when necessary.

Author Contributions
The contributions of all authors must be described in the title page document.
An author must satisfy four conditions:
• Contributed substantially to the conception and design of the study, the acquisition of data, or the analysis and interpretation.
• Drafted or provided critical revision of the article.
• Provided final approval of the version to publish.
• Agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Authors are required to include a statement of responsibility in the manuscript, including review-type articles, that specifies the contribution of every author using the CRediT Taxonomy (see below given table for details).

Conceptualization:             Ideas, formulation or evolution of overarching research goals and aims.
Data Curation:                     Management activities to annotate (produce metadata), scrub data and maintain research data (including software code, where it is necessary for interpreting the data itself) for initial use and later reuse.
Formal Analysis:                 Application of statistical, mathematical, computational, or other formal techniques to analyse or synthesize study data.
Funding Acquisition:          Acquisition of the financial support for the project leading to this publication.
Investigation:                       Conducting a research and investigation process, specifically performing the experiments, or data/evidence collection.
Methodology:                       Development or design of methodology; creation of models.
Project Administration:       Management and coordination responsibility for the research activity planning and execution.
Resources:                            Provision of study materials, reagents, materials, patients, laboratory samples, animals, instrumentation, computing resources, or other analysis tools.
Software:                               Programming, software development; designing computer programs; implementation of the computer code and supporting algorithms; testing of existing code components.
Supervision:                          Oversight and leadership responsibility for the research activity planning and execution, including mentorship external to the core team.
Validation:                               Verification, whether as a part of the activity or separate, of the overall replication/reproducibility of results/experiments and other research outputs.
Visualization:                          Preparation, creation and/or presentation of the published work, specifically visualization/data presentation.
Writing – Original Draft:         Preparation Creation and/or presentation of the published work, specifically writing the initial draft (including substantive translation).
Writing – Review & Editing:   Preparation, creation and/or presentation of the published work by those from the original research group, specifically critical review, commentary, or revision – including pre- or post-publication stages.
An author name can appear multiple times, and each author name must appear at least once. The submitting author is responsible for providing the contributions of all authors at submission.
We expect that all authors will have reviewed, discussed, and agreed to their individual contributions before submitting the work. Contributions will be published with the article, and they should accurately reflect contributions to the work.

Changes to authorship
Authors are expected to consider carefully the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list should be made only before the manuscript has been accepted and only if approved by the journal Editor. To request such a change, the Editor must receive the following from the corresponding author: (a) the reason for the change in the author list and (b) written confirmation (e-mail, letter) from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement. In the case of addition or removal of authors, this includes confirmation from the author being added or removed.


After Acceptance
Once the manuscript is accepted for publishing in Bee Studies, authors will receive an e-mail notification with all necessary information on further steps in the publishing process. 

Publication Ethics
Ethical duties and responsibilities of “Bee Studies” are written in the light of the guidelines and policies made by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The editors, reviewers and authors of our journal are expected to act under the ethical rules and responsibilities summarized below.

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors:
• Editors are responsible for considering publishing principles, journal objectives and international standards of the journal.
• Editors should strive to constantly improve the journal and meet the needs of readers and authors
• Editors must choose reviewers according to their subject and profession.
• Editors should ensure that there is no conflict of interest between reviewers and authors.
• Editors must obey blind review and keep the identities of reviewers/authors confidential.
• Editors ensure that the members of the editorial board and reviewers evaluate the manuscripts in an unbiased and independent manner.
• Editors are responsible for protecting the personal information of the author, reviewers and readers.
• Editors take into account the feedback from users (reviewers, authors, editorial board, readers etc.) about the published works and take the necessary actions.
• Editors are responsible for providing an open and enlightening answer to complaints from the reviewers, authors and readers.
• Editors should always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors:
• Author(s) must submit original studies to the journal. That means work and results have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
• Authors cannot submit their studies to multiple journals simultaneously. Each submission can be made only after the previous one is completed.
• Authors are required to state and explain the situation in the event of a conflict of interest in the articles.
• The authors ensure that their citations and quotations in their manuscripts are accurate and complete.
• Authors should check the manuscript with plagiarism programs and submit a similarity report.
• During the review process of manuscripts, the author(s) may be asked to supply raw data. In such a case, the author(s) should be ready to submit such data and information.
• Ethical reports must be submitted by the author, when necessary.
• Accepted manuscripts are not allowed to be withdrawn.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers:
• Reviewers are requested to review the manuscripts in detail, unbiased and confidential manner.
• Reviewers must evaluate the manuscript objectively and only in terms of its content and ensure that the review is not influenced by nationality, gender, religious and political beliefs, and economic apprehension.
• Reviewers do not contact the authors directly. The review forms and comments for the manuscript are sent to the author (s) by the editor.
• Reviewers should use a constructive and gentle tone in review and avoid making personal comments including hostility, slander and insult.
• In case of any conflict of interests, the reviewer must inform the editor and decline to review the manuscript.
• The works, which are sent for review, can not be used by reviewers for any purpose until the evaluation process is over.
• Reviewers must evaluate the manuscript on time and by the ethical rules stated above.

Plagiarism Control
• All the studies should be prepared in accordance with ethical rules and citations should be indicated in the text.
• Authors should check the article with plagiarism programs and submit a similarity report.
