COVID-19 Pandemisinde Gıda ve Tarım Örgütünün Gıda Güvenliği Yaklaşımı

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemisi yalnızca sağlığımızı tehdit etmekle kalmamakta, aynı zamanda pandemi ile mücâdele kapsamında alınan önlemler yüzünden, dünya ekonomisini hem doğrudan hem de dolaylı olarak etkilemektedir. Pandemi küresel bir gıda krizine yol açmamakla birlikte, pek çok ülkede tarım, nakliye ve dağıtım faâliyetlerini derinden etkilemiştir. Karantina, sınırların kapatılması, uçuşların durdurulması, seyahatların yasaklanması gibi kişilerin ve malların dolaşımına getirilen kısıtlamalar, işyerlerinin kapatılması ve çeşitli akvitilerin durdurulması, özellikle fakir ülkelerin gıda arz ve talep sistemlerine büyük zarar vermiştir. Bunlara ek olarak, çiftçiler ve tarım işçileri arasında salgının yayılması üretimin durması, hatta toprakların terki riskini artırmaktadır. Pandeminin gıda güvencesi ve gıda tedârik zincirindeki işçilerin dirlikleri üzerindeki etkilerinin bir kısmı, orta ve uzun vâdede gözlenecektir. Gıda ve Tarım Örgütü, diğer çeşitli örgütlerle bilikte, COVID 19’un gıda güvenliğine olan olumsuz etkilerinin en aza indirilmesi için çözüm yolları aramaktadır.
