A STUDY ON THE INTERACTION BETWEEN MANAGEMENT PROCESSES AND SUPERVISION PRACTICES IN EDUCATION

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between management and supervision based on theoretical approaches and findings from the literature, and to reveal the integrated structure of these two processes in educational organizations. The study adopts a qualitative design based on a systematic literature review. Management is discussed through the functions of planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling, while supervision is evaluated as a strategic mechanism that ensures continuity and effectiveness within the management process. The findings of the literature indicate that control-oriented supervision reduces management effectiveness, whereas guidance-based and developmental supervision significantly enhances instructional leadership, teacher commitment, and school performance. The relationship between management and supervision is not linear but cyclical and interactive. In the context of educational organizations, supervision emerges as a managerial tool that improves teaching processes, supports organizational learning, and transforms school culture. Supervision should therefore be considered not merely as a control mechanism but as a developmental process that strengthens management quality. In conclusion, sustainable and effective educational management can only be achieved through a supervision approach that is developmental, guidance-oriented, and fully integrated with management processes.
