MANTIKTA NİCELEME

Abstract

Niceleme, dilbilim, mantık ve felsefeyi bir araya getiren bir konudur. Nicelik belirteçleri, dilde ve mantıkta nesnelerin miktarına veya büyüklüğüne atıfta bulunulan temel araçlardır. Bu araçlar, "hiçbir", "bazı", "birkaç" "tüm", "her ikisi" veya "çok" gibi belirteçlerle ifadeye ya da önermeye sınır koymaktadır. Ne var ki bu belirteçler, şeylerin ölçüsünü ya da sınırını tam olarak değil de aşağı yukarı ve yaklaşık olarak ortaya koyan sözcüklerdir. Bu nedenle niceleyiciler, söylem alanındaki örneklerin miktarını belli belirsiz ortaya koyan sözcükler olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Ancak bu tanımla birlikte niceleyiciler, anlamın tam olarak ele alınmasına bilimsel bir ilgi duyanlar için bir problemdir. Dolayısıyla bu çalışmanın amacı, mantıkta kullanılan niceleyicilerin, kesin bir miktar belirtip belirtmediğinin araştırılmasıdır; eğer bu belirteçler net ölçü vermiyorsa, o zaman kesin bilgi veren ve doğruyu elde etme aracı olarak mantık, bu belirteçlere sahip olasılık değeri taşıyan önermeleri ne bakımdan kendine konu edinmektedir? sorusunun cevabını aramaktır.

QUANTIZATION IN LOGIC

Abstract

Quantification is a topic that brings together linguistics, logic, and philosophy. Quantifiers are the essential tools with which, in language and logic, referring to quantity of things or amount of stuff. These tools limit the statement or proposition with the quantifiers such as "no", "some", "a few" "all", "both" or "many", etc. However, these quantifiers are words that reveal the amount or boundary of things not exactly, but more or less approximately. Therefore, quantifiers are defined as words that vaguely reveal the amount of examples in the field of discourse. But with this definition, quantifiers are a problem for those who have a scientific interest in handling completely meaning. Hence, the aim of this study is to investigate whether quantifiers used in logic indicate a precise quantity; if these quantifiers do not give certain amount, then in what sense does logic, as a means of providing precise information and obtaining truth, concern itself to propositions with probability values bearing these quantifiers? is to search for the answer to the question.
