Tıp Fakültesi Öğrencilerinin Başarı Odaklı Motivasyon Düzeyinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Amaç: Motivasyon, öğrencinin bir konuya yönelmesini, öğrenme isteğini, öğrenme hızını ve kararlılığını belirleyen en önemli etkenlerden biridir. Uzun ve zorlu bir eğitim sürecinden geçen Tıp fakültesi öğrencilerinin eğitim sürecinde ve akademik başarısında motivasyonun önemli bir yeri vardır. Çalışmanın amacı, Tıp fakültesi öğrencilerinin demografik özellikler dikkate alınarak başarı odaklı motivasyon düzeylerinin belirlenmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmamız İzmir Kâtip Çelebi Üniversitesi Tıp fakültesinde 104 öğrencinin katılmasıyla gerçekleşmiştir. Katılımcılara sosyo-demografik sorulardan oluşan anket formu ve Başarı Odaklı Motivasyon (BOM) Ölçeği online olarak uygulanmıştır. Veriler IBM SPSS Statistics v.26 paket programında değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Yapılan analizler sonucunda dönem tekrarı yapıp yapmamak ile başarı odaklı motivasyon ölçeği toplam puanı değişim göstermektedir(p=0,034). Dönemlere göre dış etkiler puanı istatiksel olarak farklıdır(p=0,015). Dönem tekrarı yapan ve yapmayan öğrencilerin iç etkiler puanı istatistiksel olarak farklıdır(p=0,033). Öğrencilerin not ortalamasıyla hedef büyütme puanı istatiksel olarak farklıdır (p=0,007). Kadın ve erkeklerin öz bilinci istatistiksel olarak farklıdır. Erkeklerin özbilinç puanı kızlardan daha yüksektir(p=0,036). Dönemlere göre öz bilinç istatistiksel olarak farklıdır(p=0,023). Dönem 3 öğrencilerinin özbilinç puanı Dönem 2, Dönem 4 ve üzeri öğrencilerinin puanından daha yüksektir. Dönem tekrarı ile öz bilinç puanları istatistiksel olarak birbirinden farklıdır(p=0,020). Dönem tekrarı yapan öğrencilerin özbilinci daha yüksektir. Sonuç: Cinsiyet, öğrencilerin dönemi, dönem tekrarı yapmış olmak, bir önceki dönemin not ortalaması öğrencilerin motivasyonlarında farklılıklar yarattığı bulunmuştur.

Examination of Success-Oriented Motivation Level of Faculty of Medicine Students

Abstract

Objective: Motivation is one of the most important factors determining the student's orientation to a subject, his desire to learn, learning speed and determination. Motivation has an important place in the educational process and academic success of medical school students who have gone through a long and difficult educational process. The aim of the study is to determine the achievement-oriented motivation levels of medical school students by taking into account demographic characteristics. Material and Methods: Our study was conducted with the participation of 104 students at the Faculty of Medicine of Izmir Katip Celebi University. A questionnaire consisting of socio-demographic questions and a Success-Oriented Motivation Scale (BOM) Scale were applied to the participants online. The data are from IBM SPSS Statistics v.it was evaluated in 26 package programs. Results: As a result of the analyses, the total score of the success-oriented motivation scale varies between whether to repeat the semester (p=0.034). The external effects score is statistically different according to the periods(p=0.015). The internal effects score of the students who did and did not repeat the semester was statistically different(p=0.033). The students' grade point average and target achievement score are statistically different (p=0.007). The self-consciousness of men and women is statistically different. The self-consciousness score of boys is higher than that of girls(p=0.036). Self-consciousness is statistically different according to periods(p=0.023). The self-consciousness score of Semester 3 students is higher than the score of Semester 2, Semester 4 and above students. The scores of self-consciousness and period repetition are statistically different from each other(p=0.020). Students who repeat the semester have a higher self-awareness. Conclusion: It was found that gender, students' period, having repeated the semester, and the GPA of the previous semester created differences in students' motivations.
