ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN TİROİT HASTALIKLARI KONUSUNDAKİ BİLGİ, TUTUM VE FARKINDALIKLARININ DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Araştırmamızın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin tiroit hastalıkları konusundaki bilgi tutum ve farkındalıklarının değerlendirmektir. Bu amaçla likert ölçeği kullanılarak İzmir Kâtip Çelebi Üniversitesinde öğrenim gören 106 öğrenciye gerekli test ve anketler uygulanmıştır. ygulanan ölçeğe göre anketi yanıtlayan 50’si erkek, 56’sı kız toplam 106 öğrenci çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin 61’i (%57,6) Tıp Fakültesi, 22’si (%20,8) Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi öğrencisi iken, 23’ü diğer fakültelerde okumaktadır. Bilinen tiroid hastalığı olan 2 öğrenci olduğu görülmüş ve bunlardan biri ilaç kullanmaktadır. Katılımcıların %34,9’unun ailesi ya da çevresinde tiroid hastalığı olan en az bir kişinin olduğu öğrenilmiştir. Katılımcıların 82’si (%77,4) tiroid hastalıkları konusunda yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadığını düşündüğünü belirtmişlerdir. Buna karşın, ankete katılan öğrencilerin yarısından fazlasının tiroid hastalıkları konusunda sorulan sorulara doğru yanıtlar verildiği görülmüştür.

EVALUATION OF KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND AWARENESS OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ON THYROID DISEASES

Abstract

Our research aims to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes, and awareness of university students about thyroid diseases. For this purpose, the necessary tests and questionnaires were applied to 106 students studying at Izmir Katip Celebi University using the Likert scale. A total of 106 students, 50 male, and 56 female, who answered the questionnaire according to the scale applied, were included in the study. While 61 (57.6%) of the students are medical faculty, 22 (20.8%) are dentistry students, and 23 of them are studying another faculties. It was observed that there were 2 students with known thyroid disease and one of them was using medication. It was learned that 34.9% of the participants had at least one person in their family or environment with thyroid disease. Eighty-two (77.4%) of the participants stated that they did not have enough information about thyroid diseases. On the other hand, it was observed that more than half of the students who participated in the survey gave correct answers to the questions asked about thyroid diseases.
