The Journal of Current Medical Research (CJMR) aims to promote communication among all branches of medical research worldwide. Thus, it is targeted to contribute to the development of a multidisciplinary perspective on current medical problems. The journal publishes original studies in the field of medicine. The target audience of the journal is physicians and academicians working in all disciplines in the field of health. CJMR journal publishes clinical and experimental original research in all fields of medicine, rare case reports, invited reviews on special and current medical issues, and letters to the editor.
Articles written in both Turkish and English are evaluated for publication. Total of three issues are published in a year.
The Journal of Current Medical Research is the official publication of Izmir Katip Celebi University Faculty of Medicine. The publication languages of the journal are Turkish and English. The journal is internationally peer-reviewed scientific journal and published three issues a year (in April, August and December). CJMR is open access and free. The CJMR journal publishes original clinical and experimental research in all fields of medicine, rare case reports, invited reviews on special and current medical issues, and letters to the editor.
Submission Control List
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
• The submitted manuscript must not have been previously published or submitted for consideration to any journal for publication (detailed explanation is given in the Author's Guide).
• The submission file must be prepared using OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect.
• References must be written in accordance with writing rules. URLs should be provided for references where available.
• Main text must be written with single-spaced, 12-font size, Times News Roman style and justified paragraphs.
• The expressions that want to be emphasized should be shown in italics.
• Tables should be presented on a different page after the references.
• Pictures and Figures must be uploaded to the system separately in JPEG/TIFF format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
• If the size of the sent file is too large, the system may not receive it. In such cases, you can divide the article and send the other parts as an additional file, one by one.
• Title page, Copyright Transfer Form and ICMJE Potential Conflicts of Interest Disclosure Form have to be uploaded separately.
• Ethics committee approval document and plagiarism report must be uploaded separately
Author Guideline
In order to submit an article to the Current Journal of Medical Research, the authors should carefully read the following information. The files must be prepared in accordance with the format. Manuscripts that are not prepared in accordance with the format will not be evaluated.
ORCID information of all authors included in the article must be indicated on the title page.
In addition, all authors should fill in the names of the institutions, their e-mail addresses.
Articles that do not meet this requirement will not be considered. ORCID knowledge acquisition is detailed in the author's responsibilities section.
ORCID ID must be written as full web address. (Ex: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3620-1261.).
The Current Journal of Medical Research is open access and free of charge in line with the Budapest open access policy. No subscription fee, publication fee or similar payment is requested for accessing the resources. Articles in this journal can be used as long as the author and original source are cited. No permissions are required from authors or publishers.
ARTICLE PREPARATION
Manuscripts can only be submitted through the journal's online submission and evaluation system.
Manuscripts sent to the journal will first be subjected to a technical evaluation process and their compliance with the journal's guidelines will be checked by the copy editors
Authors are required to submit the following during the initial submission:

Articles must be written in Times New Roman format, 9 pt in the abstract, 10 pt in the tables, 12 pt in the main text, single-spaced (each side 2.5 cm). Abbreviations should be written as SI (Standard Index). Authors are required to upload their article files to the system in six sections. Details on these are presented below.
1- Ethics Committee Report and Statement
If experimental animals were used in the research, the research have to be approved by the ethics committee and the relevant document must be uploaded to the system. For studies conducted with information and documents without using animals, but by collecting data within the framework of academic and ethical rules, the permission or ethical declaration form obtained from the relevant institutions and organizations must be filled and uploaded to the system.
To avoid potential conflicts of interest, the "International Council of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Potential Conflicts of Interest Disclosure Form" must be completed.
2-Copyright Transfer Form
When submitting an article, authors should send the wet signed version of the Copyright Transfer Form to the system in PDF format.
3- ICMJE Potential Conflicts of Interest Disclosure Form
When submitting a manuscript, authors must include the ICMJE Potential Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form in the system.
4- Plagiarism Report
The plagiarism report obtained through Turnitin, intihal.net, iThenticate or similar software must be uploaded to the system when submitting the article.
5- Article Title Page
The title of the article (in Turkish and English), the full name of the authors, their addresses, titles, e-mail addresses and ORCID IDs of all authors must be written. Authors with different addresses are written with superscript numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) and the corresponding author should be indicated with an asterisk (*) as follows.

In this section, Turkish and English titles, abstract, keywords and other parts of the article should be prepared in the following order. Author name, institution, e-mail information, etc. should not be included in the main text file. In the file name, the name and surname of the author, the name of the institution where he works, etc. information should not be included. The name of the file must be the same as the article title. Manuscripts that do not meet this requirement will not be considered.

When sub-headings that are need to be opened under the main headings, they must be written in italics and only the first word should start with a capital letter. For example;

Short title: It should be written with a maximum of 50 characters and placed in the header section.
Abstract: Abstracts in Turkish and English to be written in original research should not exceed 250 words and should be arranged in separate sections: Purpose, purpose of the study; Materials and Methods, how the study was conducted; Results, statistically significant main findings; Conclusion, possible implications. In case report and review, summaries should be prepared as unstructured without subtitles.
Keywords: Turkish and English 5 keywords should be written. Only the first letter of the first word of the keywords should be capitalized.
Introduction: This section should be written by citing directly related articles with sufficient knowledge. At the end of this section, the hypothesis and purpose should be clearly stated.
Materials and Methods: A separate section should be added for the description of materials and methods. If more than one method is used, this section should be subdivided. Unless a new and/or modified method is used, the methods should be referenced. Any change made on these methods should be clearly defined.
Results: Findings should be presented as Tables, Figures or Graphics. The text should mainly include important findings.
Discussion: The results of the study should be discussed directly with relevant references. This section can also be divided into subsections.
Conclusion: This section should clearly state the main results of the research. Results should not be repeated.
Acknowledgments: This part of the article should be mentioned on the title page. Financial or other support should be written. If the work has previously been presented as an abstract at a conference, it should be noted in this section.
References: References should be numbered according to the order of use in the text, their numbers should be indicated in parentheses at the end of the sentence in the text or immediately after the author's name. Journal names must be abbreviated as used in Index Medicus. If the number of authors is more than six, after the first three names, “et al.” must be written. Manuscripts that have been accepted for publication but are in print can be cited in the references using the phrase "in press".

Tables: Tables should be presented at the end of the manuscripts, on a different page after the references. Tables should not be transferred from another application (Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.) by copying and pasting. Tables should be made with the Create table option in the Word file to be uploaded to the system. Otherwise, there will be shifts in the rows and columns of your tables during typesetting.
Pictures and Figures: Since all figures, photographs, graphics, and diagrams are considered as figures, they must be uploaded to the system individually in their original size, 300 dpi resolution (visuals should have contrast and clarity to see color and details), and in JPEG/ TIFF format. Figure numbers should be indicated in the text with Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3 ...). Figure texts should be placed in the main text file, right after the references, together with the figure numbers.
ARTICLE TYPES AND FEATURES
Original Research: Original research articles are prospective, retrospective and original scientific articles based on all kinds of experimental studies and observations. Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and should be structured with the following subtitles: Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results and Conclusion. The main text should be structured with the following subtitles: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion. The main text should not exceed 3500 words, excluding the abstract, references, tables and figure captions.
Review: Review articles are comprehensive analyzes written based on the authors' extensive experience and publications in the topics of review. All review articles will also be peer-reviewed before being accepted. The abstract should be written as unstructured. The author has the privilege to define subsections in the article. Subheadings should be written in italics and only the first letter should be capitalized.
Letter to the Editor: This type of article discusses important parts, overlooked or missing parts of a previously published article. Articles that may attract the attention of the readers on the subjects covered by the journal, especially on educational cases, can also be presented in the form of "Letter to the Editor". Readers can also submit their comments on the published article in the form of a "Letter to the Editor". Abstract, Keywords and Tables, Figures, Pictures and other media should not be included. The text must be unstructured. The commented article should be quoted appropriately in this article.
Case Report: Case reports are articles that present and discuss clinical evaluations and features of one or more cases of scientific importance. They are rare articles that differ in diagnosis and treatment. It should be supported with a sufficient number of photographs and diagrams.

REVISIONS
When submitting a revised version of an article, the author should submit an annotated copy of the main document, including how and where to find each questions raised by reviewers (each reviewer's comment, followed by the author's response and any changes made). Revised manuscripts must be submitted within 20 days from the date of the decision letter. If the revised version of the article is not submitted within the given time, the revision option may be canceled. If the author(s) believe that additional time is required, they should request this extension before the first 20-day period expires.
Accepted manuscripts are edited by copying in terms of grammar, punctuation, and format. Once an article's publication process is complete, it is published online on the journal's web page before being included in its scheduled issue as a preprint publication. A copy of the accepted manuscript in PDF form is sent to the responsible author and a proofreading is requested and publication approval is requested within 3 days.

Assoc. Prof. Asya Banu Babaoğlu graduated from Trakya University Faculty of Medicine in 2001, following her secondary education at Istanbul Ayazağa Işık High School. She completed her residency in Public Health at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (2002–2008) under the supervision of Prof. Selma Karabey.
After her specialization, she worked in several key public health institutions between 2008 and 2015, including the Istanbul Maternal and Child Health and Family Planning Center, Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate, Konak District Health Directorate, and İzmir Provincial Health Directorate. She served as the Branch Director for Noncommunicable Diseases at the İzmir Public Health Directorate in 2014–2015.
Since 2015, Dr. Babaoğlu has been a faculty member at the Department of Public Health, İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University Faculty of Medicine, where she was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022.
She actively contributes to various committees and commissions within İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University and the İzmir Provincial Health Directorate, and she serves in several working groups of the Turkish Association of Public Health Specialists (HASUDER). Her academic and professional interests focus on community health education, health literacy, sexual and reproductive health, child and adolescent health, and the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases, particularly obesity.

Prof. Dr. Ayşegül (Akder) Sarı, 1997 yılında Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nden mezun olmuş, 2002 yılında İzmir Atatürk Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi’nde Patoloji ihtisasını tamamlamıştır. İhtisas sonrası aynı kurumda başasistan-uzman doktor olarak görevine devam etmiş, 2012 yılında doçent unvanını almıştır.
2014–2017 yılları arasında Kanada'da Toronto Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde Gastrointestinal Patoloji alanında Klinik Yan dal Eğitimi (Clinical Fellowship) almış; 2017–2018 yıllarında Mount Sinai Hastanesi’nde (Toronto) meme patolojisi alanında araştırmacı (Research Fellowship) olarak çalışmıştır. Bunu takiben bir ay süreyle endokrin patolojisi alanında gözlemci olarak bulunmuştur.
2019 yılından bu yana İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi Atatürk Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Patoloji Anabilim Dalı’nda profesör olarak görev yapmakta olup, 2022 yılından itibaren Anabilim Dalı Başkanı olarak görevini sürdürmektedir.
Gastrointestinal sistem, hepatobiliyer sistem, meme patolojisi ve üropatoloji başta olmak üzere sistemik patoloji alanında akademik çalışmaları ve yayınları bulunmaktadır.
Prof. Dr. Ayşegül (Akder) Sarı graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1997 and completed her residency in Pathology at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital in 2002. Following her specialization, she continued working at the same institution as a chief assistant and specialist, and received the title of Associate Professor in 2012.
Between 2014 and 2017, she completed a Clinical Fellowship in Gastrointestinal Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Canada. From 2017 to 2018, she worked as a Research Fellow in Breast Pathology at Mount Sinai Hospital (Toronto), and subsequently spent one month as an observer in Endocrine Pathology.
Since 2019, she has been serving as a Professor at the Department of Pathology, İzmir Katip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research Hospital. She has also been the Head of the Department since 2022.
Her academic work and publications focus primarily on gastrointestinal system, hepatobiliary system, breast pathology, and uropathology, as well as other areas of systemic pathology.
Prof. Dr. Kurtuluş ÖNGEL
1972 yılında İzmir’de doğdu. 1996 yılında Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nden mezun oldu. İstanbul Haseki Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi’nde 1998-2002 yılları arasında Aile Hekimliği uzmanlık eğitimini tamamladı. 2004 yılına kadar aynı hastanede Aile Hekimliği Uzmanı olarak görev yaptı. 2006 yılında yardımcı doçent olarak Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Aile Hekimliği Anabilim Dalı’ndaki görevine başladı. 2010 yılında İzmir Tepecik Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesi Aile Hekimliği Kliniği İdari ve Eğitim sorumlusu olarak göreve başladı. 2011 yılında doçent, 2017 yılında profesör olan Kurtuluş Öngel; 2013 yılından itibaren İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Aile Hekimliği Ana Bilim Dalı Başkanlığı yanı sıra; İKÇÜ Atatürk Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesi Aile Hekimliği Kliniği İdari ve Eğitim sorumluluğu görevini yürütmektedir. 67 uluslararası yayını, 206 uluslararası bildirisi, 128 ulusal yayını, 326 ulusal bildirisi, 15 ulusal kitabı/kitap bölümü ve 200’ün üzerinde atıfı bulunmaktadır.
Doç. Dr.Esra Meltem Koç 2008 yılında Selçuk Üniversitesi Meram Tıp Fakültesi’nden mezun oldu. Ankara Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi’nde Aile Hekimliği ihtisasını, Eskişehir Anadolu Üniversitesi Açık Öğretim Fakültesi’nde Sağlık Kurumları İşletmeciliği ve Adalet Önlisans; İşletme lisans; Hacettepe Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü’nde Sağlık Ekonomisi ve Farmakoekonomi ve İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimler Enstitüsü’nde Yazılım Mühendisliği yüksek lisans eğitimlerini tamamladı. Halen İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü’nde Biyomedikal Teknolojileri Doktora ve Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü’nde Medya ve İletişim Yüksek Lisans eğitimine devam etmektedir. Kanıta Dayalı Tıp Derneği Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı olan Dr. E. Meltem Koç, ANEAH’de çalıştığı dönemde Türkiye’deki ilk hastane tabanlı Sağlık Teknolojileri Değerlendirme Birimi olan ANHTA’nın yürütmüş olduğu STD çalışmalarında yer almıştır. Dr. Koç, halen Avrasya Sağlık Teknolojileri Değerlendirme Girişimi sekreterlik görevlerini sürdürmektedir. 2015-2016 tarihleri arasında Sağlık Bakanlığı Sağlık Araştırmaları Genel Müdürlüğü Sağlık Teknolojileri Değerlendirme Dairesi’nde çalışan Dr. Koç Şubat 2016’dan beri İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Aile Hekimliği Anabilimdalı’nda öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. 2019-2021 tarihleri arasında İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Dekan Yardımcılığı görevini yürütmüştür. Ayrıca Mayıs 2017’den beri İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi Sağlık Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi müdürlük görevini yürütmektedir.
She graduated from Ege University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1986. He completed his master's degree in Medical Pharmacology at Cumhuriyet University (CÜ) Faculty of Medicine in 1990 and his doctorate in 1994. In 1996, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Pharmacology at CÜ Faculty of Medicine. He earned the title of Associate Professor of Medical Pharmacology in 1999. In 2005, he was appointed to the professorship of the same department and served as the Head of the Department of Medical Pharmacology at CÜ Faculty of Medicine between 2002 and 2013. Between 2002 and 2011, he served as a member of the CÜ Scientific Research Projects (BAP) commission, between 2008 and 2011 as the Director of the CÜ Institute of Health Sciences, between 2011 and 2013 as the Deputy Dean of the CÜ Faculty of Medicine, and between 2011 and 2012 as the founding Dean of the CÜ Faculty of Pharmacy. In 2013, she began working as a faculty member and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Izmir Katip Çelebi University (İKÇÜ). In 2014, she became a faculty member at the İKÇÜ Faculty of Medicine. Currently, she serves as the Head of the Department of Medical Pharmacology, Vice Dean, and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at İKÇÜ Faculty of Medicine. She has 88 full research articles published in international peer-reviewed journals and 26 in national peer-reviewed journals, a total of 66 national and international presentations, and 4 national and 2 international research awards. Her scientific interests include vascular, urogenital, and gastrointestinal smooth muscle pharmacology, cancer treatment, and drug use during pregnancy. She is a member of the Turkish Pharmacological Society and the Chamber of Pharmacists. She is married and has two sons.
