Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Amoımts of lodine in Nonpolar Solvents

Abstract

Alifatik hidrokarbonlar, karbontetraklorür, benzene gibi polar olmıyan çözücü¬ler içinde bulunan eser halde iyodu tayin etmek için yeni bir metod bulunmuştur. Bu metodda hekzametilmelaminium iyodürün kloroform içindeki seyreltik çözeltisi kul¬lanılmakta ve litrede 1,3.10”6m iyot spektrofotometrik olarak kolayca tayin edile¬bilmektedir. Bu maksatla kullanılan ayıraç (hekzametilmelaminium iyodür) katı halde saf olarak elde edilebilmektedir (tarafımızdan yapılmıştır). Kolaylıkla çözündüğü ve süblimleştiği için iyodu polar olmıyan bir çözücüden kayıpsız olarak polar olan bir çözücüye veya sulu ortama almak çok güçtür. Yeni ve¬rilen metod sayesinde böyle bir işleme lüzum kalmadan iyot polar olmıyan çözücüler¬de dahi kolaylıkla tayin edilebilmektedir
