Activation Analysis As A Tool For The Assignment Of Mode Of Occurence Of Trace Elements In Phosphate Ores
Abstract
An efficient calcination process for calcareous phosphate ores is studied as a base for the present work. The net result of the beaviour of the constituent minerals s given.
As determined by a nondestructive neutron activation analysis technique, the trace ele¬ments, Ce, Lu, U, Cr, La Hf, Zr Sc and Co are found to be assocîated with the phosphate mineal while Eu is present in the gangue minerals, as calcite, dolomite, clay and iron oxides. The two elements Ba and Fe are incorporated in both the gangue and the phosphate minerals
