Abstract
Hydrolysis of methyl 3-N (3-chloroanilino) propionate (VI) gave 3-N (3-chloroanilino) propionic acid (VII) which cyclised to 7—chloro-1, 2, 3, 4—tetrahydro-4—quinolone (V) and 7- 7-chloro-I, 6-diketojuloidine (IV). The latter compound also prepared by cyclisation of 3-ch- loroanilino-N, N-3-bisdipropionic acid (XI) produced through hydrolysis of the diester (XII).
