STUDİES ON THE PHYTOPLANKTON OF tHE BAYINDIR DAM LAKE

Abstract

İn this study the composition and seasonal variation of phytoplankton in Bayındır Dam Lake were qualitatively and. guantitatively inA-estigated between May 1981 to July 1983, The chlorophyll-a content of phytoplankton and the some physical and ehcmical properties of -the lake water were also stııdied. Phytoplankton was composed of 71 species belonging to Bacillariopyhta, Clılorophyta. Cyanophyta, Dinophyta^ Cryptophyîa, Chrysophyta and E'agleno- phyta, The phytoplankton doıninated by Baciliariophyta became rather poor in Winter but it showed some increases during early Summer and Autuıan. (ncreases in early Summer were caused by Cyclotella oc/illata and it was Tetraedron minirnum which was responsible for increases in Autumu. The yalues cf chlorophyll-a were in eomplience with the amount of total organism,
