Spiders of Ankara and environs with a Description of a new Species Xysticus turcicus ( Araneae, Thomisidae )

Abstract

After joining the faculty of the University of Ankara as a member of the Department of Zoology, I have engaged in a study of the spiders of Turkey. From 1953 to date, I tried to collect spiders from ali över Turkey, but the majority of the specimens in this group was found in Ankara and in the immedi- ate surroundings within a radius of 50 kilometers of Ankara.
