Phytoplankton of Karamık Lake consists of 175 species vvhich belong to Bacillariophyta,
Chlorophyta, Chrysophyta, Cryptophyta, Cyanophyta, Dinophyta and liuglennphyta divisions. The
fact that a great part of the lake is covered with rushes has inereased the number of the species of epipelic and epiphylic origin. In phytoplankton, Chlorococcales and Desmidiales members have been recorded as ıvidespread and abundant but Cyanophyta members have been of seconekate importance.
Most of the existing species are characteristics of eutrophic lakes. The compound indices value that has been found out also indicates that the lake is eutrophic.
