“NET SIFIR” HEDEFİNDE KARBON YAKALAMA, KULLANIM VE DEPOLAMA TEKNOLOJİLERİNİN YERİ

Abstract

Paris İklim Anlaşması, uluslararası hukukta, yüzyılın ikinci yarısında “net sıfır” karbondioksit salımı ve küresel sıcaklık artışını sanayi öncesi seviyeye kıyasla 1,5°C ile sınırlama hedefini belirlemiştir. Bu hedef için, belirli bir karbon bütçesinin içinde kalınması gerekmektedir. Yenilenebilir enerji kullanımı ve enerji verimliliğindeki artışın sağlanması iklim değişikliği ile mücadele için çok önemli olsa da bu, karbon bütçesinin içinde kalabilmek ve sıcaklık artışını 1,5°C ile sınırlamak için yeterli olmayabilecektir. Bu noktada, karbon yakalama, kullanım ve depolama teknolojileri, “net sıfır” karbondioksit salımı hedefine ulaşmada önemli bir role sahip olacaktır. Bu makalede, karbon yakalama, kullanım ve depolamanın kısaca ne olduğuna, karbon yakalama, kullanım ve depolama teknolojilerinin mevcut durumuna ve sanayide kullanımının önemine yer verilmiştir.
