İşçiler Dezavantajlı Grup Mudur?

Abstract

Son yıllarda, gözlenen en önemli gelişmelerden biri işçilerin sosyal sınıf yerine, dezavantajlı grup olarak tanımlanması yönündeki eğilimdir. Sosyal politikada işçiler dezavantajlı grup olarak kabul edilmemektedir. Ancak kapitalist sistemin ürettiği sınıfsal eşitsizliğin ekonomik odaktan uzaklaştırılmak istenmesi, işçi sınıfının ekonomik ve mesleki bir kategori olarak değil, yoksul, kadın, göçmen veya siyah gibi çeşitli kimliklere ayrılarak dezavantajlı birey ve gruplar olarak tanımlanmasına neden olmuştur. Bu nedenle, refahın dağılımında devletin oynadığı rol değişime uğratılarak yeniden dağıtım politikalarından vazgeçilmesi ile kimlik politikalarının öne çıkarılması arasında yakın bir ilgi bulunmaktadır. Bu makalede, işçilerin üretimdeki rollerine dayanan sınıf politikalarından, tüketimdeki rollerine dayanan kimlik politikasına doğru geçilmesi sonucunda sosyal politikanın diğer politika alanlarından ayrılan özgün bakış açısının nasıl yitirileceği ele alınacaktır.

Are Employees a Disadvantaged Group?

Abstract

In recent years, one of the most significant developments observed is the trend towards defining employees not as a social class, but as a disadvantaged group. In social policy, employees are not considered a disadvantaged group. However, the desire to shift the focus away from the economic dimension of class inequality produced by the capitalist system has led to the definition of the working class not as an economic and professional category, but as disadvantaged individuals and groups divided into various identities such as poor, women, immigrants, or Black. Therefore, there is a close link between changing the role of the state in the distribution of welfare, abandoning redistribution policies, and bringing identity politics to the forefront. This article will examine how the unique perspective that distinguishes social policy from other policy areas is lost as a result of the shift from class politics based on employees’ roles in production to identity politics based on their roles in consumption.
