Balıklar, Tekneler ve Tayfalar: Türkiye’de Balıkçılık Sektöründe Çalışma ve Yaşam Koşulları

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’de balıkçılık sektöründeki çalışma koşullarını değerlendirmektir. Çalışmanın temel odağını deniz avcılığının büyük bir bölümünü oluşturan gırgır teknelerindeki çalışma ve yaşam koşulları oluşturmaktadır. Türkiye’deki deniz avcılığının %48’inin gerçekleştiği Doğu Karadeniz bölgesinin en önemli balıkçılık alanlarından olan Ordu ili çalışma alanı olarak ele alınmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında gırgır teknelerinde tayfa olarak çalışanlarla ve tekne sahipleriyle derinlemesine görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma ile araştırmamızdan elde edilen sonuçlar ve avcılık sürecindeki gözlemlerimizden ortaya çıkan bulguların paylaşılması ve tartışmaya açılması planlanmaktadır

Fish, Boats and Crews: Working and Living Conditions in the Fishing Sector of Turkey

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate working conditions in the fishing sector of Turkey. The main focus of this study the working and living conditions in the purse seiners, the most important method of the marine capture fishing in Turkey. This paper leans on a fieldwork in Province of Ordu, one of the most important fishing areas of the eastern Black Sea, where 48% of the marine fishing takes place in Turkey. The cross-sectional study was performed with questionnaire survey with purse seiners crews and semi-structured interviews with owners of the fishing vessels. This paper aims to share emprical findings of the research and generate discussion about the results
