Kadınların Menopoz Algısı ve Tamamlayıcı Tedavi Kullanımına İlişkin Tutumları

Abstract

Bu araştırma, kadınlarda menopoz algısı ve tamamlayıcı tedavi kullanımına ilişkin tutumlarının değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Tanımlayıcı tipteki araştırma kadın doğum polikliniğine başvuran premenopoz, perimenopoz, postmenopozal dönemde olan 180 kadın ile yürütülmüştür. Verilerin toplanmasında Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, Menopoz Tutum Değerlendirme Ölçeği ve Tamamlayıcı Tedavileri Kullanmaya Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (TTTÖ) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 25 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmada menopozal dönemdeki kadınların TTTÖ toplam puan ortalaması 13.53 ± 5.57, menopoz tutum değerlendirme ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 24.06 ± 7.4 olarak belirlenmiştir. Kadınların aile tipi, doğum sayısı ve uzun süre kullanılan aile planlaması yöntemi değişkenleri ile menopoz tutum değerlendirme ölçeği puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kadınların yaş ve çalışma durumu değişkenleri ile TTTÖ puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kadınların menopoz dönemlerine göre menopoza karşı tutumu ile tamamlayıcı tedavileri kullanmaya yönelik tutumu arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunamamıştır. Kadınların menopoz dönemlerine göre menopoz algısı ve tamamlayıcı tedavi kullanımı arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olmadığı bununla birlikte kadınların menopoz döneminde farklı tamamlayıcı tedavi yöntemleri kullandıkları belirlenmiştir. Bu süreçte kadınların kullandıkları yöntemleri sağlık personelleri ile paylaşmaları ve kullanılan yöntemin güvenilirliğine ilişkin bilinçlendirmelerin sağlanması önerilmektedir.

Women's Perception of Menopause and Their Attitudes Towards Complementary Therapy Use

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the perception of menopause and attitudes towards complementary therapy use in women.This descriptive study was conducted with 180 women who were in premenopausal, perimenopausal, and postmenopausal periods who applied to the obstetrics outpatient clinic. Introductory Information Form, Menopause Attitude Rating Scale and Attitudes towards Using Complementary Therapies Scale (ACTS) were used to collect data. SPSS 25 package program was used in the analysis of the data. In this study, the mean ACTS total score of menopausal women was 13.53 ± 5.57, and the total mean score of the menopausal attitude assessment scale was determined as 24.06 ± 7.4. It was determined that there was a significant relationship between the women's family type, number of births, and family planning method variables used for a long time, and the mean scores of the menopause attitude assessment scale. It was determined that there was a significant relationship between the age and working status variables of women and their mean ACTS score. There was no significant relationship between women's attitudes towards menopause according to their menopause periods and their attitudes towards using complementary therapies. It was determined that there was no significant relationship between the perception of menopause and the use of complementary therapy according to the menopause periods of the women, however, it was determined that women used different complementary treatment methods during the menopause period. In this process, it is recommended that women share the methods they use with the health personnel and raise awareness about the reliability of the method used.
