Cushing Sendromlu Hasta Bireyde Bütüncül Hemşirelik Bakımı: Derleme

Abstract

Cushing sendromu ekzojen olarak steroid kullanımının artması veya endojen olarak kortizol üretiminin artması sonucu plazma kortizol seviyesinin uzun süre yüksek olması nedeniyle oluşan potansiyel olarak yaşamı tehdit eden nadir bir endokrinolojik hastalıktır. Cushing sendromu diğer endokrin hastalıklara göre metabolik, psikiyatrik, muskuloskeletal ve kardiyovasküler komorbiditelere neden olması açısından farklılık gösterir. Cushing sendromu birçok sistemi etkilediğinden biyopsikososyal olarak hastalar etkilenmekte bu nedenle de holistik bir hemşirelik bakımına olan ihtiyaç artmaktadır. Holistik hemşirelik beden, zihin, duygular, ruh, çevre, ilişkiler ile yaşamın sosyal ve kültürel yönlerinin birbirlerini etkilediği ve bütünsel olarak incelenmesi gerektiğini savunan özel bir hemşirelik uygulamasıdır. Literatürdeki çalışmalar incelendiğinde Cushing sendromuna yönelik holistik hemşirelik bakımı ile ilgili bir derleme çalışmasına rastlanılmamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Cushing sendromuna yönelik holistik hemşirelik bakımını incelemektir. Çalışma Cushing sendromunu holistik hemşirelik bakımı ile birleştirerek hemşirelerin hastalığı holistik hemşirelik kapsamında anlamalarını kolaylaştıracak, hemşirelerin hastalara daha bütüncül ve bireysel bir bakım sunmalarını sağlayarak hastaların sağlıklarının geliştirilmesi, korumasında ve yaşam kalitelerinin artırılmasında önemli katkılarda bulunacağı düşünülmektedir.

Holistic Nursing Care in the Patient with Cushing Syndrome: A Review

Abstract

Cushing's syndrome is a rare and potentially life-threatening endocrinologic disorder caused by prolonged high plasma cortisol levels due to increased exogenous steroid use or increased endogenous cortisol production. Cushing's syndrome differs from other endocrine disorders in that it causes metabolic, psychiatric, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular comorbidities. Since Cushing's syndrome affects many systems, patients are affected biopsychosocially and therefore the need for holistic nursing care increases. Holistic nursing is a special nursing practice in which the body, mind, emotions, spirit, environment, relationships and social and cultural aspects of life affect each other and should be examined holistically. When the studies in the literature were examined, no review study on holistic nursing care for Cushing's syndrome was found. The aim of this study is to examine holistic nursing care for Cushing's syndrome. The study will facilitate nurses' understanding of the disease within the scope of holistic nursing by combining Cushing's syndrome with holistic nursing care, and it is thought that nurses will make significant contributions to improving and protecting patients' health and increasing their quality of life by providing a more holistic and individualized care to patients.
