Abstract
Bugünkü Türkiye'de yazı dilinin sadeleştirilmesinden hürriyet düşüncesinin fikri planda gündeme getirilmesi ve toplumsal alana taşınıncaya kadar, modernleşmenin kökenlerini "Yeni Osmanlılar"ın öncü çalışmalarında bulmak mümkündür. Bu makale "Yeni Osmanlıların din ve siyaset anlayışları bağlamında modernleşmenin Yeni Osmanlıların düşünceleri üzerindeki etkisini ve moderniteyi okuma biçimlerini ,farklı epistemik ve kültürel kalıplara sahip bir toplumdaki tezahürlerini ele almaya çalışmaktadır.

Abstract
It is possible to find
the origins of modernization in the pioneering works of "New
Ottomans", from the simplification of the writing language in today's
Turkey to the introduction of the idea of liberty in the minds of the public
and to the social sphere.
This article attempts to address
the influence of modernization on the thoughts of New Ottomans and the way of
reading modernity in the context of the "New Ottomans" in terms of
their understanding of religion and politics, their manifestation in a society
with different epistemic and cultural patterns
