Abstract
Globalization can be simply defined as that inter-people interaction is turning global and as a new and widespread perception that rapid socio-cultural change stimulates. For the history of humanity may be for the first time, it has been possible to influence people in a global scale, to guide and even mould. Nowadays a serious identity crisis and identity system conflict ha ve been experienced especially in Turkey and the countries, whose citizens are muslim. Rapid socio-cultural change leads to deconstruction and reconstruction of all strata of society by the the effect of Globalization. The soundness of the change depends on being the social system in harmony with social identity. However, this change can be only realized byrethinking of Islam, since the current Islamic approachs towards religion doesn't provide it. The muslims can survive by protecting their identities against the tedious eddies of Globalization on condition that the succeed in making change while changing. The way out for this is to activate Muslim's creative abilities by using the power of science. This point also requires a serious change in mentality. So, this change in question can not be realized unless a rooted, sound and rational change happens in their understandings of religion. In order that the Muslims can solve the local problem hold the end of Globalization, their rethinking of Islam as a whole is an indispensable condition.In this context; it must be stressed that religion is the understanding forms of revelation, which is revealed by God to his Prophet. As Islam cannot be monopolized by any community or sect, also tradition cannot be understood as identical to it. Consequently rethinking of Islam is the understanding of its message iin harmony with Qur'anic univesal principles and in accordance to requirements of the century, in which Muslims are faced with serious political and social crisis
