Abstract

Shura and Democracy in the Mirror of Qur'an. Two verses in the Qur’an Commands to obey shura but, Qur’an as well as messenger Muhammad’s practices dont frame shura. Various practices of shura period of four caliphs indicates that shura can change by changing time, in the Qur’an form of shura has been lefted minds. Shura and dictatorship are opposite. Both Shura and democracy accepts freedom, equality and consultation. Practices of democracy in the Western doesnt requires to evaluate democracy as a opposite to shura and islam. Also there is smilarity between election system in democracly and acknowledging system in islam. Both democracy and shura are means of administration. Also both democracy and shura rejects dictatorship. Changing names doesnt change reality. The opinions claiming that democracy dosent appropriate for shura isnt objective and has no scientific basis
