The Concept of "Holy and Holy Time"in Mircea Eliade's Works

Abstract

In common, sacred is defined with the word of religion. Also religion is often defined in terms of sacred as distinc from the profane. In a wider sense, the notion of the sacred has been identified, to some extent, with that of religious. Mircea Eliade points out, the sacred is revealed in the profane and anything that humans have ever handled come intact with or loved can reveal the sacred. According to Eliade, all definitions that have ever been give of the religious phenomenon make the sacred the opposite of the profane. Meanwhile, the sacred as that was awesome and reducible to reason. On the other way, there is another notion that as with sacred, is that sacred time. It’s a time that essentially different from the profane time.
