SPEKÜLATİF KURGU TÜRÜ YİRMİ BİRİNCİ YÜZYILDA ÖTEKİLERİN ÜTOPYASI MI?

Year 2021, Volume: 1 Issue: 3, 198 - 203, 30.10.2021

Abstract

Uzun yıllar boyunca yarattıkları alternatif evren ile şu anın değişimini sağlayabilecek katalizörler olarak görülen ütopyalara olan inancın yirminci yüzyılın sonlarına doğru azalması, ütopyanın ölümünün tartışılmasına neden olsa da ütopyacı düşünce biçiminin yok olmadığını düşünenler ütopyanın, ütopya başlığı altında üretilmeden de var olmaya devam ettiğini iddia etmişlerdir. Bu metin, benzer bir ifadeyle, yirminci yüzyıl sonunda ütopyaların ölmediğini, ütopyacı düşüncenin kendini eleştiriler doğrultusunda dönüştürerek ve farklı isimlerle adlandırılarak alternatif yaşam tahayyülleri üretmeye devam ettiğini, ütopyanın yazarın yaşadığı dönemden ve yazarın kendisini konumlandırdığı yerden bağımsız olmadığını, bu sebeple genelde batılı, beyaz, heteroseksüel, erkek tarafından üretilen ütopyaların belirli grupları ötekileştirdiğini ve bu ötekileştirmenin sonucunda ötekileştirilen grupların kendi yaşam tahayyüllerini ütopya yerine spekülatif kurgu başlığı altında üretmeyi seçtiklerini Camille Hikayeleri üzerinden tartışmaya açmayı hedeflenmektedir.

IS THE SPECULATIVE FICTION GENRE AN UTOPIA OF OTHERS IN THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY?

Year 2021, Volume: 1 Issue: 3, 198 - 203, 30.10.2021

Abstract

Although the losing faith in utopias, which were seen as catalysts that can provide the change of the present with the alternative universe they created for many years, leds to discussion of the death of utopia towards the end of the 20th century, those who thought that the utopian way of thinking did not disappear claimed that utopia continued to exist without being produced under the title of utopia. In this text would like to open a discussion that utopias did not die at the end of the twentieth century, utopian thought continued to produce alternative life imaginaeries by transforming itself with critics and by naming itself with different names, utopia is not independent of the period in which the author lived and the place where the author positions himself by analysing Camille Stories. Therefore, utopias which are produced by generally western, white, heterosexual, men marginalize certain groups and these marginalized groups choose to produce their own alternative life imaginations under the title of speculative fiction instead of utopia.
