The aim of this study is to methodologically analyze problems in the teaching of the Turkish language in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The research work is composed of the third and fourth year students studying in the departments of Turkish Language and Literature at the Universities of Sarajevo, Zenica and Tuzla. Research data were collected by interview method consisting of 23 questions. For setting the parameters for the interview, the first thing done was the review of the literature, then professional opinions were taken into account and a test interview was done. Descriptive method and content analysis were used in the data analysis. Results on the reliability of data show 62%, by which the validity of research is secured. The main identified problems were: using mother tongue in teaching, different sentence structures of compared languages, the lack of possibilities for using the foreign language in practice, deficiencies in the curriculum, and the lack of higher educated teachers
