Abstract
Siros Adası, Yunanistan’ın kuruluş süreci olan 1820’li yıllardan, buharlı teknolojinin denizcilikte kendini iyice hissettirdiği 19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından sonraki döneme kadar geçen sürede, yelkenli-ahşap gemi teknolojisinde Ege’nin ve Doğu Akdeniz’in en büyük gemi inşaa ve gemi tamir-bakım merkezi, deniz ticaret kavşağı, transit ticaret deposu ve liman hizmetleri noktası olarak deniz ticaret tarihine özel katkı sunmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Siros Adası’nın Yunan deniz ticaret tarihine yaptığı bu özel katkı incelemektir.
