The findings of similar studies should not be discussed unless they help to establish the hypothesis. The purpose of the study should be clearly stated in the last paragraph of this section; If appropriate, the research hypothesis should be given.

Materials and Methods

The material used, the people involved in the experiment, and the methods should be described in sufficient detail so that the experiment can be repeated by others. The origin of the materials and equipment used should be identified in parentheses (brand, product number, production lot number, manufacturer, city and country). If a known method is used, the source should be cited, and if a new or modified method is used, it should be explained.

Inclusion and exclusion criteria should be specified for humans, animals, and controls examined in observational or experimental studies, and the source population should be defined.

Ethical issues should be mentioned in this section (explicit name of the Ethics Committee, approval date and approval number should be written). If appropriate, it should be cited that the consent was obtained from the patient(s).

The statistical analysis method should be explained in sufficient detail in the last paragraph of this section.

Statistical power analysis: The results of determining the sample size for prospective studies (software used, type 1 error value, power value, effect size, how the effect size was determined, which statistical test was taken into account), and the actual power value in retrospective studies should be given.

Statistical terms, abbreviations and symbols should be defined. The computer program used should be specified. It is recommended that the authors consult a statistician for statistical evaluation of the study.
