Abstract

Orthodontic bracket that holds the characteristic of being the most used material in orthodontics has a long history in modern orthodontic practice. The addition of novelties to alloys used in the production of bracket materials has brought about the enduring renewal of biomechanical and aesthetic developments. Although varying and evolving bracket materials provide appliance alternatives and advantages for orthodontists, there are some disadvantages to these changes. Various studies have been carried out and still continue regarding the treatment situations and treatment effects for each type of bracket material. In the present study, studies related to raw materials, production techniques, classification and identification of brackets used in fixed orthodontic treatment were collected and topics were revised
