From Faith to Practice: The Ilmihâl of Politics - Saîd ibn Ismâil Aksarayî and His Siyâsa al-Dunyâ wa al-Dîn

Abstract

This study aims to present a manuscript work titled “Siyâsa alDunyâ
wa al-Dîn” (The Politics of Religion and World) by Saîd
ibn Ismâil Aksarayî, who was jurist of the Hanafî school. Partly
an example of the Ahkâm al-Sultâniyya genre, this work is significant
in terms of understanding the relationships between
the fiqh and Islamic political thought. For it discusses three
different topics, including faith, worship and government or
state organization, together and within the same conceptual
framework. The ultimate aim of the manuscript’s author is to
write a guidebook for those who wish to govern Muslims to
“put into practice.”

İtikaddan Amele Siyaset İlmihâli: Saîd b. İsmail Aksarayî ve Siyâsetü’d-dünyâ ve’d-dîn Adlı Eseri

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Hanefî mezhebine müntesip bir fakih olan Saîd b. İsmail el-Aksarayî’nin Siyâsetü’d-dünyâ ve’d-dîn (Din ve dünya siyaseti) başlıklı yazma eserinin tanıtılması hedeflenmiştir. İslam siyaset düşüncesinin fıkıh ilmiyle irtibatını belirleme açısından önem arz eden bu eser, bu yönüyle bir nevi ahkâm-ı sultaniye eseri olarak değerlendirilebilir. Zira eserde itikad, ibadet ve devlet idaresiyle ilgili konular aynı kavramsal çerçeve dâhilinde ve bir arada ele alınmaktadır. Müellifin önceliği ise Müslümanları yönetmeye talip olan kişilerin “muktezasınca amel edecekleri” bir el kitabı hazırlamaktır
