Covid-19 Pandemisi Sürecinde Spor Bilimleri Öğrencilerinin Uzaktan Eğitime Yönelik Stratejileri ve Öğrenme Deneyimlerine İlişkin Algı Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Covid-19 pandemisi sürecinde yükseköğretim kurumlarında Spor Bilimleri alanında öğrenim gören öğrencilerinin uzaktan eğitim döneminde öğrenim deneyimlerine ilişkin algı düzeylerinin saptanması amaçlanmıştır. Niceliksel bir yöntem olan çevrimiçi anket kullanılarak 220 kişiye ulaşılmıştır. Ölçekte kullanılan sorular; Ng (2012) tarafından geliştirilen, Hamutoğlu vd. (2017) tarafından uyarlanan “Dijital Okuryazarlık Ölçeği: Türkçe’ye Uyarlama Çalışması” soruları ve öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitim deneyimleri hakkında daha fazla bilgi sahibi olmak için Teknoloji Kabul Modeli kuramından yararlanılarak ölçeğe ek sorular hazırlanmıştır. Verilerin analizi 2 kategorili değişkenler için bağımsız örneklem t testi, ikiden fazla kategorili değişkenler için varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular; spor bilimleri öğrencilerinin uzaktan öğrenmeye yönelik algı düzeyleri cinsiyet, kişisel bilgisayara sahip olma ve kullanma süresi, internet erişimi ve ekipmanın yeterliliği, uzaktan eğitime katılım araçları ve uygulamaları, öğrenim görülen program ve bölüm değişkenlerine göre anlamlı farklılıklara rastlanmıştır. Bu açıdan teknik yeterliliklere, becerilere sahip olmanın uzaktan eğitim sürecine uyum sağlamayı kolaylaştırdığı ve çoğunluğun bunlara sahip oldukları ortaya konmuştur.

An Examination of Sports Sciences Students’ Distance Education Strategies and Their Perceived Learning Experiences during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine the perception levels of Sports Sciences students in higher education institutions regarding their learning experiences during the distance education period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected from 220 participants through an online survey, which is a quantitative research method. The scale items were based on the Digital Literacy Scale developed by Ng (2012) and adapted into Turkish by Hamutoğlu et al. (2017). In addition, supplementary questions were prepared based on the Technology Acceptance Model in order to obtain more detailed information about students’ distance education experiences. For data analysis, the independent samples t-test was used for variables with two categories, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used for variables with more than two categories. The findings showed that there were significant differences in sports sciences students’ perception levels towards distance education according to gender, duration of personal computer use, adequacy of internet access and equipment, devices and applications used for participation in distance education, and the programme and department of study. In this respect, it was revealed that having technical competencies and digital skills facilitates adaptation to the distance education process, and that the majority of students possess these competencies.
