Ethics Principles and Publication Policy
The Bayburt University Dede Korkut Journal of Sport Sciences is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original research aimed at advancing the field of sport sciences in Türkiye and worldwide. As of 1 January 2026, the journal is published twice a year, in January and July. In accordance with its publication policy, the journal publishes quantitative and qualitative research articles, reviews, and theoretical studies across all areas of the sport sciences. The journal's publication languages are Turkish and English.
Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere simultaneously. Bayburt University Dede Korkut Journal of Sport Sciences holds the full publication rights to the manuscripts accepted for publication. All submissions must be uploaded through the journal system available on DergiPark at https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/dksbd
. Manuscripts sent directly to editors, editorial board members, or the journal's contact email address are not considered official submissions and will not be evaluated.
In multi-authored manuscripts, no author may be removed from the author list without the written consent of all authors after submission. Likewise, no additional authors may be added, and the author order cannot be changed once the review process has begun.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal are first subjected to a preliminary evaluation by the Editorial Board. During this stage, manuscripts are assessed in terms of:a) Publication ethics
b) Journal publication principles
c) Scientific originality and timeliness
d) Contribution to the sport sciences literature
e) Compliance with the journal's writing guidelines and manuscript template
Manuscripts that pass the preliminary evaluation are sent to at least two expert reviewers in the relevant field. The journal applies a double-masked peer-review process. Communication between authors and reviewers is conducted only through the editors. Based on reviewer reports, a manuscript may be accepted, revised, or rejected. Authors are informed of the review outcomes as soon as possible.
If the author objects to the reviewer reports or if the reports contradict each other, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer. A final decision is then made based on the reviewer evaluations. Manuscripts requiring revision must be corrected by the authors and resubmitted promptly. If the authors fail to respond within a reasonable timeframe, the manuscript may be postponed to a subsequent issue. If requested revisions are not completed within a publication period without justification, the final decision rests with the editorial board.
For accepted manuscripts to proceed to publication, all authors must sign the "Copyright Transfer Form" available on the journal website and submit it via the system along with the "Ethics Approval Document." In accordance with ULAKBİM TR Index requirements, all authors' ORCID numbers must be included in the final version of the manuscript. Manuscripts lacking ORCID information will not be assigned a DOI and will not be published in early view.
