Abstract

Toplumsal bellek kavramı, bir topluluk ya da toplum içinde geçmiş olayların toplumsal olarak hatırlan0 ması ve yeniden inşa edilmesini ifade eder. Bu, zamanla olayların nasıl anlaşıldığını ve yorumlandığını etkileyen sosyal, politik ve kültürel güçlerin etkisiyle şekillenen dinamik ve seçici bir süreçtir. Halkla bilgi paylaşımının temel aracı olan gazetecilik, toplumsal belleğin şekillenmesinde ve sürdürülmesinde önemli bir rol oynar. Bu tema yazısı, toplumsal bellek ile gazetecilik arasındaki karmaşık ilişkiyi inceleyerek, medyanın toplumsal açıdan önemli olaylara dair toplumsal belleği inşa etme, koruma ve sorgulamadaki rolüne odaklanmaktadır.

Abstract

The concept of social memory refers to the collective remembrance and reconstruction of past events within a community or society. It is a dynamic and selective process shaped by social, political, and cultural forces that influence how events are understood and interpreted over time. Journalism, as the primary tool for sharing information with the public, plays a crucial role in shaping and sustaining social memory. This thematic paper examines the complex relationship between social memory and journalism, focusing on the media’s role in constructing, preserving, and questioning the collective memory of socially significant events.
