TÜRKİYE KÖMÜR İŞLETMELERİNDE TEKNİK ETKİNLİK VE TOPLAM FAKTÖR VERİMLİLİK GELİŞİMİ

Abstract

Türkiye Kömür İşletmelerine (TKİ) ait sekiz işletmenin 2007-2008 yılları arasındaki teknik etkinlik ve toplam faktör verimliliği bileşenlerindeki değişimi incelemek amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmada parametrik olmayan doğrusal programlama metotları kullanılmıştır. Toplam faktör verimlilik (TFV) değişimi; etkinlik değişimi ve teknolojik değişim olmak üzere ikiye ayrılmaktadır. Etkinlikteki değişim; etkin sınıra yaklaşmayı, teknolojik değişim ise etkinlik sınırındaki değişmeyi ölçmektedir. Elde edilen bulgular 2007 yılına göre 2008 yılında toplam etkinlik değerlerinde azalma olduğunu, teknolojik değişimdeki artışla bağlantılı olarak toplam faktör verimlilik değişiminde %14,6’lık bir gelişme olduğunu göstermiştir.

TECHNICAL EFFİCİENCY AND TOTAL FACTOR PRODUCTIVITY GROWTH OF TURKISH COAL ENTERPRISES

Abstract

In this study non-parametric linear programming methods have been used to examine the change of the technical efficiency and total factor productivity components of eight Turkish Coal Enterprise (TCE) companies between the years 2007 and 2008. Total factor productivity (TFP) change has two components; efficiency change and technological change. While efficiency change measures catching-up to the efficient frontier, technological change measures shifts in the efficiency frontier. Obtained results indicate that between the years 2007 and 2008 total efficiency is decreased, however total factor productivity change is increased by 14,6 percent.
