ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVIES OF SOME PLANTS COLLECTED IN ELAZIĞ REGIONS

Abstract

In this study, the antimicrobial activity of Agrimonia eupatoria L., Lactuca serriola L., Plumbago europaea L., Ononis spinosa L. subsp. leiosperma (Boiss.) Sirj, Onosma quriculatum Aucher ex DC., Onosma sericeum Willd, Onosma molle DC., Onosma albo-roseum Fisch. & Mey subsp. albo-roseum var. albo-roseum, Xanthium strumarium L. subsp. cavanillesii (Schouw) D. Löve & P. Dansereav, Echinophora tenuifolia L. subsp. sibthorpiana (Guss) Tutin, Melilotus alba Desr.,  Echium italicum L., Plantago major L. subsp. major, Alkanna megacarpa DC. collected in Elazığ regions have been investigated. The antimicrobial activity of these plants were tested disc diffusion method. As conclusion, extracts of A.eupatoria, L.serriola, P.major, M.alba ve E.tenuifolia subsp. sibthorpiana showed antimicrobial activity against some bacteria and yeast used in these at different ratios. But P.europaea, O.spinosa, O. quriculatum, O.sericeum, O. molle, O. albo-roseum subsp. albo-roseum var. albo-roseum, X.strumarium subsp. cavanillesii extracts did not antimicrobial activity against bacteria and yeasts used in the study
