TECHNOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF REPOWERING OF SOMA A THERMAL POWER PLANT BY FEEDWATER HEATING APPLICATION

Abstract

Soma A thermal power plant, which had commissioned in 27.10.1957 and had served till September 2010. Its installed capacity was 2x22 MWel and lignite was used as fuel with a 3550 kcal/kg lower heating value.In this study, current status of the power plant and feedwater repowering application was simulated by Thermoflex software with different gas turbine power rates. In feedwater repowering application the bled steam was not taken from the specified stages and waste heat of new installed gas turbine was used for feedwater heating. Besides, the net electrical efficiency of the power plant was increased, CO2 emissions per generated power was decreased. According to the results, with the addition of a capacity of 7.7 MWel gas turbine and two economizers the installed capacity of the power plant and the efficiency were found 31.84 MWel and 34% respectively. In current situation installed capacity of one unit and net electrical efficiency were found 22 MWel and 30% respectively. With this study, it is shown that, the necessity of performance improvement with repowering applications in thermal power plants which the efficiency declining over time and increasing operating difficulties in our country.

SOMA A TERMİK SANTRALİNİN BESLEME SUYU ÖN ISITMA UYGULAMASI İLE YENİDEN GÜÇLENDİRİLMESİNİN TEKNOEKONOMİK ANALİZİ

Abstract

Soma A termik santrali 27.10.1957 yılında işletmeye alınmış ve Eylül 2010’a kadar hizmet vermiştir. Bu santral 2x22 MWel kurulu gücünde tasarlanmış ve buhar kazanında yakıt olarak yaklaşık 14850 kJ/kg alt ısıl değerinde linyit kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada Thermoflex paket programı ile santralin mevcut ve besleme suyu uygulaması ile yeniden güçlendirilmesi durumları farklı gaz türbini gücü oranlarında incelenmiştir. Besleme suyu yeniden güçlendirme uygulamasında besleme suyu ön ısıtıcıları için buhar türbininden alınan ara buharlar alınmayarak, yeni kurulacak gaz türbininin atık ısısı ile besleme suyu ön ısıtma işlemi gerçekleştirilmektedir. Ara buharlar buhar türbinine gönderilerek buhar türbininden eskiye göre daha fazla enerji üretimi sağlanmaktadır.Bununla birlikte, santral net elektrik verimi artarken birim güç için COemisyonları da azalmaktadır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre 7.7MWel gücünde bir gaz türbini ve iki adet ekonomizer ilavesi ile santral kurulu gücü 31.84 MWel ve verim %34 olarak bulunmuştur. Mevcut durumda bir ünitenin kurulu gücü 22 MWel ve santralin net elektrik verimi %30 olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışma ile ülkemizde verimleri zamanla azalan ve işletme zorlukları artmakta olan termik santrallerin de yeniden güçlendirme uygulamaları ile performanslarının iyileştirilmesi gerekliliği gösterilmiştir.
