CONTRIBUTION TO THE DISRIBUTION AN TAXONOMY OF Erinaceus concolor Martin, 1838 (MAMMALIA: INSECTIVORA) IN TURKEY

Abstract

In this study, nine Erinaceus COlicotor Martin, 1838 specimens obtained from Kutahya, Konya and Kastamonu provinces were investigated in detail. Specimens' ages were determined and measurements of internal and external characters were recorded. As compared with the literature data, it was concluded that the specimen Erinaceus concotor transcaucasicus Satunin, 1905 faund in all theree provinces was a subspecies.

Abstract

Bu arastirmada, Erinaceus concolor Martin, 1838 ( Kirpi) turune ait, Kutahya, Konya ve Kastamonu illerinden elde edilen dokuz adet ornek degerlendirilmistir, Omeklerin yas tayinleri yapilarak ir; ve drs karakter olculeri almrrusnr. Literatur verileri ile karsilastmlan omeklerin Erinaceus concolor transcaucasicus Satunin, 1905 altturunu temsil ettigi tespit edilmistir. Bu altturun Kutahya, Konya ve Kastamonu'da yayihs gosterdigi ilk de fa bu cahsmada kaydedilrnistir,
