EVALUATION OF HEMODYNAMIC EFFECT OF CIGARETTE SMOKING IN HEALTHY YOUNG SUBJECTS

Abstract

Cigarette smoking can be preventable most important risk factor in cardiopulmonary disease. 255 volunteer young smokers were evaluated acute Heart Rate (HR), Systolic and Diastolic Blood Pressure (SBP, DBP), and Breath Rate (BR) before smoking, immediate after smoking and after 5 minute in Kütahya Center and Dumlupinar University students. Immediately after smoking HR, SBP, DBP and BR were statistical increased in both male and females (P<0,001). In addition, after 5 min smoking except DBP in male subjects (P>0.05), all parameters were decreased (P<0,001). Although decreasing in all parameters after 5 min. smoking, cardiac result and BR were observed still higher than before smoking value in male and females (P<0.01, P<0.001). Baseline cardiac and breath rate values were statistically higher in males (P<0.01) but after smoking these values were statistically higher different in females. Smoking habit is demolished the acute physiological cardiac an breath rate responds and increased the atherosclerotic activity in young subjects especially 10 years and more cigarette smoker’s males. University students should be aware and educate about the hazards of cigarette smoking.

GENÇ BİREYLERDE SİGARANIN HEMODİNAMİK ETKİLERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Sigara kardiopulmoner hastalıklarda önlenebilir en önemli risk faktörlerindendir. Sigara içen genç bireylerde sigara kullanımının akut kardiyak cevaplarını değerlendirmek amacıyla Kütahya merkez ve Kütahya Dumlupınar Üniversitesiöğrencilerini içeren 255 gönüllü genç bireylerin (171’i erkek, 84’ü kadın) sigara kullanımından önce, hemen sonra ve 5dk sonra Kalp Hızı (KH), sistolik - diastolik kan basıncı (SKB-DKB) ve Solunum Frekansı (SF) değerlendirilmiştir. Kadınların ve erkeklerin sigara kullanımından hemen sonraki KH, SKB, DKB ve SF değerlerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı artışlar belirlenmiştir (p<0.001). Bununla birlikte erkeklerde DKB değeri hariç (P>0.05), sigara kullanımından 5dk sonrasında; bütün parametrelerde anlamlı azalmalar saptanmıştır (p<0.001). Sigara kullanımını takiben 5 dk sonrasındaki azalmalara karşın bütün parametrelerin her iki cinste sigara kullanımından öncesine göre hala yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir (p<0.01, p<0.001). Başlangıç kardiyak ve solunum frekansı değerleri erkeklerde daha yüksek olmasına karşın sigara içimi sonrasında kadınlarda daha yüksek değişimler belirlenmiştir. Sigara alışkanlığı gençlerde özellikle 10 yıl ve üzeri sigara içen erkeklerde arteriosklerotik değişimleri tetiklemekte ve kardiyak ve solunum frekansı cevapları bozmaktadır. Özellikle üniversite gençliğinin bu konuda bilinçlendirilmesi ve sigaranın zararları konusunda bilgilendirilmesi gerekmektedir.
