Efficacy of Sialography Cannulae Made From Winged Infusion Sets

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and usability of the sialography cannulae made from winged infusion sets alternatively to the standard sialography cannulae. Materials and Methods: Fourteen parotid and 12 submandibular gland sialographies (total 24 sialographies) in 21 patients in whom sialography endicated clinically were made by sialography catheters made from 19, 21 and 23-gauge winged infusion sets. Results: In all cases sialographies were made fastly and without pain. All ducts were imaged perfectly. No serious complications such as perforation or laceration were seen. Conclusion: It was seen that the sialography cannulae made from winged infusion sets can be easily and confidently used without requirement for standard sialography cannulae

Kelebek İnfüzyon Setlerinden Geliştirilmiş Siyalografi Kateterlerinin Etkinliği

Abstract

Amaç: Kelebek İnfüzyon setlerinden geliştirilmiş siyalografi kateterlerinin etkinliğini ve standart siyalografi kateterlerine alternatif olarak kullanılabilirliğini ortaya koymaktır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Klinik olarak siyalografi endikasyonu konan 21 hastada 19, 21 ve 23- gauge kelebek infüzyon setlerinden geliştirilmiş siyalografi kateterleri kullanılarak 14 parotis ve 12 submandibuler bez olmak üzere toplam 26 adet siyalografi tetkiki yapıldı. Bulgular: Tüm olgularda siyalografi işlemi hızlı bir şekilde ve ağrısız olarak gerçekleştirildi. Tüm kanallar mükemmel görüntülendi. Perforasyon ve laserasyon gibi önemli bir komplikasyon görülmedi. Sonuç: Kelebek İnfüzyon setlerinden geliştirilmiş siyalografi kanüllerinin, standart siyalografi kanüllerine gerek kalmadan, rahatlıkla ve güvenle kullanılabileceği görüldü
