A Rare Cause of Massive Upper Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage: Gastric Lipoma

Abstract

Gastrointestinal lipomas are benign, slowly growing submucosal tumors. They are most frequently seen in the colon and are least common in the stomach. Small gastric lipomas are frequently asymptomatic; however, larger tumors can manifest clinically with massive gastrointestinal hemorrhage, obstruction, invagination. We present a case of gastric lipoma which manifested with an episode of acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage and reviewed the literature

Abstract

Gastrointestinal lipomlar selim, yavaş büyüyen, mukoza altından kaynaklanan tümörlerdir. En sık yerleşim yerleri kolon olup, midede daha az sıklıkla görülürler. Mide lipomlarından küçük olanları sıklıkla asemptomatik olup, özellikle büyük boyutlu olanlar tıkanma, invajinasyon ve masif kanamalara neden olabilirler. Masif üst gastrointestinal sistem kanamasına neden olan bir mide lipomu vakasını sunduk ve literatür ışığında inceledik
