Symmetric Multiple Basal Cell Carcinoma on the Face

Abstract

The most important etiologic factor of basal cell carcinoma, which is the most frequent skin cancer, is ultraviolet-B exposure. Synchronous multiple tumors are exceptional and if present, they commonly associate a syndrome. In a 75 years-old man, ulcerated and crusted, macular and nodular lesions on face and scalp were excised and pathologic examination revealed basal cell carcinoma. No accompanying syndromic finding was found. Non-syndromic multiple basal cell carcinomas are rare in the literature. Since increasing effect of ultraviolet-B with aging may cause multiple tumors, the follow up of these patients are important

Yüzde simetrik yerleşimli multipl bazal hücreli karsinom

Abstract

Bazal hücreli karsinom (BHK) en sık görülen cilt tümörü olup etyolojisindeki en önemli faktör ultraviyole-B (UV-B) maruziyetidir. Eş zamanlı multipl lezyonlar nadir olup görüldüklerinde genellikle bir sendroma eşlik ederler. 75 yaşında erkek hastada yüz ve saçlı deride, ülserasyon ve kabuklanmalar görülen, maküler ve nodüler lezyonlar eksize edildi ve patolojik incelemesi BHK olarak bildirildi. Eşlik eden herhangi bir sendromik bulguya rastlanmadı. Literatürde bir sendroma eşlik etmeyen multipl BHK olguları nadirdir. İlerleyen yaşla birlikte UV-B’nin artan etkisi birden fazla tümör oluşumuna yol açabileceği için bu hastaların takibi önemlidir
