Intramuscular Hemangioma Of Mentalis Muscle: Case Report

Abstract

Hemangiomas of skeletal muscle are extremely rare benign neoplasms. In the head and neckregion, intramuscular hemangiomas occur most frequently in the masseter and trapezius muscles.However, intramuscular hemangiomas (IMH) arising from the mentalis muscle are relativelyrare. Preoperative diagnosis of head and neck IMH is rendered difficult by its rarity andnonspecific clinical findings. Total excision of the hemangioma with a margin of normal muscleis recommended. In this report, a case of mentalis muscle hemangioma, which was surgicallyexcised by transoral approach and histopathologically confirmed the diagnosis of capillary-typeIMH, was presented and the clinical, histologic fîndings and treatment modalities are discussed

Mentalis Kasında İntramusküler Hemanjiom: Olgu Sunumu

Abstract

İskelet kaslarında gelişen hemanjiomlar oldukça nadir görülen iyi huylu tümörlerdir. Baş boyunbölgesinde sıklıkla masseter ve trapezius kaslarında rastlanan intramusküler hemanjiomların(İMH) mentalis kasında görülmesi çok daha seyrektir. Nonspesifik klinik bulgulara sahip olmasıve baş boyun bölgesinde ender görülmesi nedeniyle bu tümörlerde preoperatif tanı koymakoldukça zordur. Tedavi olarak bir miktar sağlam kas dokusunu da içerecek şekilde hemanjiomuntotal cerrahi rezeksiyonu önerilmektedir. Bu yayında, mentalis kasından köken alan ve transoralyaklaşımla tamamı çıkartılan, histopatolojik tanısı kapiller tip İMH olarak rapor edilen bir olgusunuldu ve klinik, histolojik bulgular ile tedavi protokolü tartışıldı
