Sudden Pneumothorax Develeoped During Ventilation With a Bag Valve Device While Transportation

Abstract

Self- inflating bag-valve devices are commonly used for the ventilation of intubated patients,especially during resusitation and transport. These devices are generally safe, but minordeviations in their recommended use can expose patients to high airway pressures. Specifically,a tense oxygen reservoir caused by high flow rates of supplemental oxygen, decreased oroccluded flow through the oxygen reservoir's bleed, or a combination of these can lock the bagin inspiration, prevent expiration, and thereby generate high airway pressures. In this case report,we present a patient in whom a sudden pneumothorax developed during ventilation with a bagvalve device

Transport Sırasında Balon Valf Sistemiyle Ventilasyon Uygulanırken Gelişen Ani Tansiyon Pnömotoraks

Abstract

Balon valf sistemi entübe hastaların ventilasyonunda özellikle resusitasyon ve transportta sıkçakullanılan bir cihazdır. Bu cihazlar genellikle güvenlidir, ancak bunların önerilenkullanımlarındaki minör değişiklikler hastaları yüksek havayolu basınçlarına maruzbırakabilmektedir. Özellikle, yüksek akımlı ek oksijene bağlı oksijen rezervuarının gerilmesi,kaçak deliğinden akımın azalması, tıkanması veya bunların kombinasyonları balon valf sisteminiinspirasyonda kilitler, ekspirasyonu engeller ve böylece yüksek havayolu basınçlarına nedenolabilir. Bu olgu takdiminde, balon valf sistemiyle transport sırasında aniden gelişenpnömotoraks olgusunu sunmayı amaçladık
