The Importance of Aspirin Use in Cancer

Abstract

In recent years, although crucial develeopment of diagnosis and curation for many cancers, it isa serious health problem has high mortality and morbidity worldwide. Therefore scientists havefocused on targeted therapy approaches lately. An inbitor or a drug, target spesific, may getsuccesful results inhibiting cell proliferation and cell growth in development of cancer. Lastdays, several important studies demonstrated that low dose aspirin utilization decreased insidinceand mortality of many cancers including colorectal, breast, gastric and lung cancer. In this reviewwe tried to summarize that aspirin utilization and ıts effects on cancer molecular mechanismsby current studies. Clarifying these mechanisms will provide an insight needed to developsignificant advancements for cancer therapy. Herewith it will be needed to determine aspirinusage profile of patients for each kind of cancer, getting either low or high aspirin dose forwhich cancer type and benefit risk ratio. Finally, survival of patients may be increased utilizinganti cancer effects of aspirin, a cheap, accesible and easily obtainable nonsteroidal drug and bythis way mortality rate of cancer may reduce in the future

KANSERDE ASPİRİN KULLANIMININ ÖNEMİ

Abstract

Son yıllarda kanserin tanı ve tedavisinde birçok önemli gelişme olmasına rağmen, dünya çapındahala mortalitesi ve morbiditesi yüksek ciddi bir sağlık sorunudur. Bu yüzden bilim insanları sonzamanlarda ‘hedefe yönelik tedavi’ şekillerinin üzerinde yoğunlaşmış durumdadırlar. Hedefeyönelik geliştirilecek bir inhibitör veya ilaç, kanserleşme sürecinde hücre proliferasyonu veyahücre büyümesini baskılayarak başarılı sonuçlar elde edilmesini sağlayacaktır. Son günlerdebirkaç önemli çalışmada düşük doz aspirin kullanımının kolorektal, meme, gastrik, akciğer veyadiğer kanserlerin insidansını ve mortalitesini düşürdüğü gösterilmiştir. Biz de bu derlemedeaspirin kullanımı ve kanserdeki etkilerinin moleküler mekanizmalarını yapılmış güncelçalışmalarla özetlemeye çalıştık. Bu mekanizmaların aydınlatılması kanser tedavisinde önemligelişmelerin ortaya çıkmasına ışık tutacaktır. Bu yüzden her bir kanser türünde hastaların aspirinkullanım profillerinin belirlenmesi gerekecek ve hangi kanser türünde düşük veya yüksek dozaspirin kullanılacağı ve risk-yarar durumları belirlenmiş olacaktır. Sonuç olarak ucuz, ulaşılabilirve kolay temin edilebilir bir non-steroidal ilaç (NSİ) olan aspirinin anti-kanser etkilerindenyararlanılarak kanser hastalarının sağkalımları arttırılabilecek ve gelecekte kanserden ölümriskleri düşürülebilecektir
