The Evaluation of the Patients with Lacunar Cerebral Infarct by Optical Coherence Tomography

Abstract

Aim: The RNFL thickness value of the patients who had established lacunar infarct on theirMRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), compared by OCT with healthy volunteers, which is anoninvasive examination and has a high reliability.Material and Methods: The patients who had applied to neurology polyclinic for any reasonand established lacunar infarct on their MRI were included in the study. Patients’ optic nervefiber thickness was measured. The control group was formed by 50 randomized healthyvolunteers. Results: 20 of patients were female (40%) and 30 of them were male (60%), and the averageage was 62.88±1.25 of control group were female (50%) and 25 of them were male (50%), andthe average age was 62.64±1.06. Lakünar Serebral İnfarktlı Hastalardaki Retinal Değişikliklerin Optik Koherens Tomografi İle Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Amaç: Kranial MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)’larında lakünar infarkt tesbit edilen optikatrofili hastaların güvenilirliği yüksek non-invazif bir inceleme olan Optik KoherensTomografinin (OCT) ile optik sinir retinal sinir lifi yatağı (RNLF) değerleri sağlıklı gönüllülerlekarşılaştırıldı. Metod: Çalışmaya nöroloji polikliniğine herhangi bir nedenle başvuran ve kranial MRI’larındalakünar enfarkt tesbit edilen hastalar dahil edildi. Hastaların OCT ile optik sinir lifi kalınlığıölçüldü. Kontrol grubu rastgele seçilmiş 50 sağlıklı gönüllü kişilerden oluşturuldu. Hasta vekontrol grubunun OCT ile elde edilen her iki göz RNFL superior, inferior, nasal ve temporalbölgelerindeki kalınlıkları karşılaştırıldı.Bulgular: Hastaların 20’si kadın (%40) ve 30’u erkek (%60) idi ve yaş ortalaması 62.88±1.1kontrol grubunun 25’i kadın (%50) ve 25’i erkek (%50) idi ve yaş ortalaması 62.64±1.06 idi.Hastaların ve kontrol grubunun karşılaştırıldığında hasta grubunda RNFL kalınlıklarının tümkadranlarda istatistiksel olarak anlamlı oranda azaldığı tespit edildi (p
