Left Pulmonary Artery Agenesis - Case Report

Abstract

Purpose: Isolated unilateral pulmonary artery agenesis is a rare congenital pathology which isseen commonly in infants and children. Age and early diagnosis to convey the vital importancein these patients, so we aimed to attention to the variational diseases of this kind.Case reports: 16 month old male baby admitted into Children Outpatient Clinic of MedicineFaculty in Afyon Kocatepe University with the complaints of tachycardia and low weight gain,persistent cough and fever altough two week antibiotic treatment. The chest computedtomography conducted at Radiology Department revealed absence of left main pulmonary artery.Conclusion: Congenital pathology should be considered in patients with common cardiologicand developmental problems, recurrent pulmonary infections like in our case. Beside that thepresence of the serious complications like pulmonary hypertension and congestive heart failuremakes early diagnosis very important

Sol Pulmoner Arter Agenezisi Olgusu

Abstract

Amaç: İzole tek taraflı pulmoner arter agenezisi, olguların büyük bir çoğunluğunun infant çocuk olduğu ve oldukça nadir görülen konjenital bir patolojidir. Bu hastalarda yaş ve erkentanının hayati önem taşımasından dolayı bu türden varyasyonel hastalıklara dikkat çekmeğiamaçladık.Olgu Sunumu: 16 aylık erkek bebek hasta, kilo alımında yetersizlik, taşikardi ve bunun yanındadüzenli olarak kullanılan antibiyotik tedavisine rağmen geçmeyen öksürük ve ateş şikayetleriile Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları polikliniğinebaşvurmuştu. Bunun üzerine Radyoloji Anabilim dalında çekilen spiral bilgisayarlı toraks BTtetkikinde sol ana pulmoner arter izlenmediği saptandıSonuç: Olgumuzda olduğu gibi tekrarlayan akciğer enfeksiyonları, kardiyolojik ve gelişimselproblemlerle sıklıkla karşılaşılan hastalarda doğumsal bir patolojinin olabileceği düşünülmesigerekir. Ayrıca pulmoner agenezide pulmoner hipertansiyon, konjestif kalp yetmezliği gibikomplikasyonlarının bulunması, hastalığın erken tanısı için büyük önem kazanmaktadır
